I was looking to purchase a Jeep SRT-8 tonight, and happened to go to Donavee Jeep in Placentia, CA. I was looking at a new '07 Steel Blue Metallic SRT8 with Group 1 package. Long story short after an hour of discussion, the general sales manager Al basically changed the agreed upon price from $40,000 out the door to $47,000 at the last minute. Classic bait and switch tactics. That's why I hate car salesman and their poor business manners. They would not even consider discounting after all the trouble of going through the motions of making a deal, and only pretended to be willing to sell their car at a reasonable price. Instead, they raised the price back up by $7000 to their dealer asking price and didn't consider to take into account that their '07 SRT8 had been sitting on their lot since June of 2007 depreciating in value. I also hated the fact that I could not speak to the GM directly, and instead had to relay messages through his assisstant.:what:

BTW, Josh @ HOP knows alot about the SRT-8 vehicles; I had to ask earlier for advice about the Jeep SRT8.

Sorry about the ranting. I just wanted to vent my anger.

i was quoted $50k for a brillant black in antioch, got there and they said they "misquoted" the price and offered it at $55k...

i was planning on haggling, but ended up just laughing.

i went for a drive though in the new red one they had on a demo, can anyone tell me the ride gets better than that? holy jesus, the thing had the bounce of an H2.

...call Don at Champion!

I also hate dealers, I am honest and legit up front, and tell them, look
make your money on the older rich people that could care less, give
me a good deal and move this unit today. I'm not here to B.S.

I do my research, and give them a hard time up front about the deal I want.

I always have a similiar vehicle lined up at a dealership down the road.

When we bought my mother-in-law's anniv SS in 02, the dealer wanted to
haggle and wanted $36k for the car, I called the other dealer from their
showroom, and made the rough deal on the phone...saved $3900 and
drove another 23 miles down the road...see ya.

CALL DON!!!! His prices are more than fair, he is honest and straight forward plus he will deliver to your door. My next SRT will come from him.

Thanks guys for sharing your wisdom and car buying experiences. Those guys at Don A Vee had the nerve to call me this morning. I basically told them I didn't like them after the hassle I went through and I wasn't going to buy from them. The stupid sales manager asked me "IF" I would buy the car for $40,000 and I had acquiesed to such a price; afterwards he raised it back up. Why would a person make an offer when they have no intention of honoring it?

Don A Vee sucks!:supergay:

I Had The Same Thing Happen To Me In Vegas Then I Gave Don A Call At Champion And He Saved Me $18,000 Over Them And $7grand From Sticker And He Delivers Oh And Drinks Beer :good:
