Frank's Racing Tomahawk Cam - specs: 218/212, 557/547, 113 LSA

Lightly used with less than 5k miles on it.

This cam has spent more of its life in the box than in a motor. It was originally Trojan's and was installed in his 392 stroker motor for a few thousand miles. He never really got it dialed in, so when he switched I bought it from him planning on putting it in with new heads. My new heads will have a bigger intake valve though and the valve to piston clearance with the big valve is pretty tight, so now I'm getting a custom grind cam instead.

$250 shipped Fed-Ex ground with insurance to continental USA

Hmm...how would this puppy work with Indy's Maxx heads Adam? My current mods are listed below the sig but I'm adding these heads and headers.

From what I can tell, the Indy Maxx head uses a 2.08" intake valve. You can use the Tomahawk, but I'd install it retarded 3-4 degrees to open up the intake valve to piston clearance.

would this work with stock heads?

Yes, this cam will work with stock head. I have a smaller lift version of the Tomahawk in my car right now with stock heads. This is just its big brother.

Silly question but it shouldn't matter if I have a GCSRT right. Same engine so it would be compatible I assume. What gains would be expected with this cam installed? And lastly, would tuning be necessary after the installation of the cam? Sorry for to many questions, just trying to get as much info as I can.

Yes, it should fit in a Jeep SRT8 motor. Gains from cam only in a 6.1 should be in the 25-30HP neighborhood. Yes, tuning of some kind will be needed. I'm running mine with the Predator right now.

I have the B&G stage II flash. I guess I have to Call Dave @ B&G to see if I need to get another reflash. You wouldn't happen to have any pics of it would you/

Not right now, but I can take some for you later tonight.

Awesome, thanks Adam. Oh, is there a website that I could read up more about the Cams?

Unfortunately no website yet. Franks racing is a small mom and pop type company and their website isn't finished yet. Probably the best place to learn more about them and their products is at their forum on lxforums: http://www.lxforums.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=171

Here is their description of the Tomahawk cam:
"Tomahawk - (5.7 - 6.1) Reverse Split durations with very custom lobes that literally pulls from idle to beyond your capabilities in a 6.1 expect it to take off about @ 2500 on a smaller 5.7. This cam should increase gas milage but no where near the Sidewinder and while it can be tuned out, its still not as easy to work with as the Sidewinder. Possibly the best all around cam in regards to power, capability, yet not too rowdy.

MDS Friendly - YES
Tuning Considerations - B&G, SMT6, and PSCII
Specs - 218/212, 557/547, 113 AND 112 LSA'S "

Oh okay, thanks for the info. So this cam should be alright for a daily driven vehicle? guessing with the specs of the cam.

Oh yeah, mine is a daily driver and I have a Tomahawk variant in it right now. Lots of LX SRT8 daily drivers have this cam. With the idle at 750-800 you can hardly even tell its in there, well until you step on it. :)

The B&G Stage II should handle it just fine without the need for a reflash.

Adam, the Tomahawk cam might be sold if I can see some pics! :pleasantry:

Here are the pics. Sorry they're a little late, had to take the wife out to dinner and movie.
