WTB: VIN# for the SRT Track Experience

If you plan not to attend an SRT track experience after having purchased an SRT vehicle, I'd like to take that opportunity off your hands in exchange for some cash.


I've gone to the Miami track experience with my friend thanks to two generous SRTC'ers and am looking for some more VIN#'s to use towards my California trip to Laguna Seca next year.


If you wish to sell yours, let me know.... I'm looking to spend the least amount of money possible, but if I can't find one in time I'm likely going to pay the full price on the SRT web site.

PS. It cannot expire until February 2009 or so... so if you purchased your car before February 2008 i don't think i could use your VIN#. Thanks!
 
I always planned on using it but i didnt know it was only good for one year.

Q.How long do I have to use my Track Experience if it was included with the cost of my car?A.Vehicles purchased before 4/1/07 have 2 years from date of purchase, Vehicles purchased after 4/107 have one year from date of purchase. Additionally, as long as you have registered for an event before your expiration you can attend any event, even if we visit your area after your expiration.

Mine will be good to pre-register until november...
I'm not going to use it, what do you have to do to sell it?

It's just a matter of a letter of something like that saying you're transfering the TE opportunity to someone.

They changed this brutha, it's now only 1 year. Sux. And correct me if I'm wrong but you don't have to have a vin to do the TE right, anyone can do it, you just have to pay what is it, $500??
 
well i have one as well but we are the 2nd owners of the car and they told us that we will need to show proof that we own the car when we go just to let you know.

we have to bring the registration with us when we go to show proof. just food for thought.
 
Q. What does it cost?

A. If your vehicle was ordered after April 1, 2005, the registration has already been included in the cost of your vehicle and there is no additional charge (U.S. spec vehicles only). If your vehicle was ordered before April 1, 2005, there is a $500 charge for the one-day event. Check your Monroney Label (window sticker) for reference, or call us at headquarters, at 800-998-1110.

WHAT?!?! That's crazy, they actually told you that?? Who said that?? That's not right or at least they don't say anything about that on their website, I just checked it. They only need the vin, regardless of who owns it or if it's a second or third owner or what. Hmmmm, I might call them up, I've had good communication with them in the past, this doesn't sound right ... unless it's something new.

well that is what they told me when i called at the one in north carolina. they searched the vin asked me what my name was. said yes i am still good under the vehicle but the name doesn't match up. I said we purchased the car used we are the 2nd owner on it. They said bring your registration with you to prove that you own the vehicle.

Wow, that must be a new thing, sorry. They must be having problems with scammers or something although I don't get how. The TE is paid for IN the purchase price of the CAR, not by the buyer seperately. It comes with each and every SRT whether the owner wants it or not. It's on every sticker. For the TE they track the vin to tell if what they call the "freebee" (even tho it's NOT free, it's paid for) has been used or not, don't get how that could be scammed. The vin either shows it's been used or not, that's it. I guess maybe they've had problems with people getting ahold of someone else's vin (stealing it) and using it, maybe that's it. I suppose I didn't have a prob since my name matched my vin. Oh well, regardless you're gonna have a GREAT time, enjoy!!!!!!!!!

well we probably aren't going to use it unfortunately. we want to but it is over a 5hr drive there and don't have the extra 500 dollars for me/wife to do it as well so it would be a very far drive for just myself or my wife to have fun. So obviously i would pay the 500 dollars so we both could do it which we don't have.
