Recently tried the Volant and it seems to work very, very well. HUGE filter...it gave me a woody!!! The addition of the snorkel trimmed to catch air (Ram Style) from the front grille and modifying the brake duct to work as a Y so air is diverted to the box and to the brake. This seems to pressurize the box and keep the filter box, tube and especially the manifold cold to the touch, of course the GSM phenolic spacers help as well. When the temps at night cool down the manifold remains cool to the touch even in stop and go driving. I attempted to duplicate the concept used by NASCAR and others. The box is big enough to hide the Zex nitrous solenoids and purge system. The purge will release through the brake duct out the front lower grille. The Jeep now has a fully ported and flowed GSM/CMW intake manifold. The Jeep title with most N/A horsepower and Nitrous assist will soon be mine in a few days.
That is gonna be sooo kick azz Steve! That was funny how your neighbors were waving at me thinking it was you since we have the same color Jeep. Definitely need to hit Irwindale soon and get a bunch of people to show. I might be down for this Thursday myself? Gotta put the GC in the shop on Thursday morning though for a recall flash, powersteering leak, and other electrical gremlins. I'm hoping I'm not driving home in a rental.
Like i said......enjoyed having you over. I actually learned how to change those links out now. I cant wait for this system to be operational:thumb:!!!
I know I can do a 1.6X, if tuning works as expected, and esp doesn't have issues again, and I can stay hooked, maybe a 1.5X. Well, I think I can, I think I can. LOL
Looks awesome Steve...bet you'll need to bolster down the new seats in no time....remember your other Jeep lol...
Hey Eddie! I told you I would make use of the Volant. It really works well and if you have the patience you can work out the fitment issues. All the wiring is hidden and in wiring looms that make it look stock. Cant wait for the track!
Team Effort I'd like to take the credit......but no. I met this father and son team out at Fontana and we stayed in touch. They both came over and being they have installed these before I trusted them. I expressed my desires and we brainstormed it and came up with the noted results. What you dont see is all the hidden wiring that is in looms and hidden in the engine compartment. All this took about 14hours. I was busy working on OurZoos Jeep installing sway bar end links. Tomorrow GSM we will finish it off. I have a 1/8 aluminum polished diamond plate the dual tank holder will be mounted to in the back hatch area. The switches will be mounted and tested, ready for Irwindale Thursday.
I installed the TPS activation switch......I was going to for the window switch but was sold on the throttle postion switch. As you know (and I hope) the fly by wire doesnt open completely at stand still wot. So I hope it doesnt come on until the Jeep starts moving!
I think you have 6 different throttle positions but if you did away with TQ mngmt which I think you did that might have changed the timing activation of the TPS. I'll do some research on it and let you know or maybe someone will chime in that knows for sure. I'll get back to ya before Thursday. LONNIE
