To be on the deck of a ship and "feel" the Sonic-boom as they fly by is awesome. To be whipped off the flightdeck of a Carrier is even more of a blast!
I was on an amphib when I was in the Navy and got to see some cool maneuvers. Once was tragic though; a Marine Major came at the port side (left for you land lubbers out there), of the ship during an exhibition, 90% to the water and turned so he was about 100 yards away. I said to my buddy that it was strange how has his landing gear down. When he got 50 yds or so behind the ship, he inverted and crashed into the sea. Nothing but pieces were left. He was flying a AV-8B Harrier.
had the priviledge to watch many an airshow growing up the son of a fighter pilot. the best was watching my father perform stunts while standing on the runway close up and personal!!!!!! great vid ron!!!
