Got a CF trunk today Jesus tackled the trunk with Meguiers Wax, Claybar, Wax, Claybar, Wax some more and it turned out really good. Still needs a few more coats of wax but claybar twice and about 5 times waxing it came out like this... Fitment was near perfect. We had to remove the springs inorder for it to sit as flush as possible. No more dented stock trunk and no more taped spoiler holes :dance4:
you don't have a hood to match do you? how do you like it? I have been putting off replacing my trunk with a CF one because I do not feel like spending 1200 bucks for the set, or paying 600 bucks for just the trunk and paying another 200+ dollars to get it painted.
I like it a lot. I didn't want to pay the 600 for just a trunk either but I have been wanting to replace mine. So that is why we found one used and paid half of that.
Sweet deal! I have what I call the "New Mexican wing mod" as my wing was stolen off my trunk (ripped off with gusto) and I am getting tired of looking at it. If you run across another deal like that hook a brotha up k
That sucks. That is how my indents happened but they didn't get the wing and that happened before I got the car. We will let you if we find another deal.
Someone stold your wing!?!??!?!?!?!?!? LMAO!!!! Who in the hell would steal a wing? CF trunk looks good!!! I didn't know you were supposed to wax then claybar? I thought it was claybar, then how ever many coats of wax you want.
Not at the moment. I'm waiting on the guy we got the trunk from to get back to me about a CF hood he has. Its an OEM style CF hood. Its suppose to be claybar then however many coats of wax you want. But if you saw how the trunk was you would know why I chose to claybar, wax, claybar, then a few coats of wax.
Because we can... No, seriously. Someone tried stealing the spoiler off the stock trunk, pushing it upwards towards the front of the car. Causing the spoiler to stick up off the trunk on the back half and causing creased indentions on the trunk. The wing has been off the stock trunk for awhile. Having the dents there and spoiler holes... we talked about getting a CF trunk for awhile now and finally got one. Looks a lot better IMO.
Plus when the wing was on the stock trunck it vibrated bad. All I saw in the rearview mirror was the wing moving. And there was a huge gap from the wing to the trunk when it was suppose to be flush. Plus I think it makes the car look more girly with out the wing.
looks real good. now polish up them tails and make them shiny also.. or get some GTS covers to give it the dark look in the rear. i would really like to do CF hood and trunk on my car, but its not worth the $$$ unless you get it used like you did. and if i were to get a CF hood, i would want the real deal for actual weight savings.. and that hood is like 1100 or something.. again trunk looks great, especially for being used.
