I've been trying to get this resolved for over a month now!!! All I need is: To remove the camshaft misfire I'm getting a CEL for (P0300). I keep getting this code, and I know I shouldn't be!!! (simple fix for anyone with CMR software). And to remove the "rev limiter" when I have the car in park or neutral. When I attempt to rev the girl up and show off a little, she stops at 4K on the tach, I just need somebody to remove that (also a simple fix for anyone with CMR software). THAT'S IT!! THOSE ARE THE ONLY 2 THINGS I NEED!! If you'd like to PM me your email address, I can forward you my tune immediately to make the revisions. It's pretty minor stuff, and shouldn't take anyone with knowledge, more than 10 minutes to do, but I'm willing to pay for it if deemed necessary. Thanks.
I believe you can raise the Rev limiter in "N" with the handheld. Almost positive, but maybe its just in "D". Prolly dont want to rev it anyway much past 4k in "N" Id think. As for the PO300 code, Everyone with a Cam gets that code every so often. Not sure you can just turn it ""off".
Chase, I believe a CMR tuner will have to go into your tune and adjust your sensors so that they will only throw a code at over 3000 rpms.
So everyone with a motor swap just "deals with" CEL's all the time??? (not trying to sound like a dick, I'm genuinely asking ) Correct. I just need someone to do it!! Even by just revving it quickly, and not "holding" it??? Maybe just raise it to 5K then??
Chase,You can raise the rev limiter right from your Handheld,As far a mis fire codes with a cam?I never had any.Maybe because Im 20 minutes from Diablo and Johan does my tuning Im sure once he sees this he will reach out and help.Hes a cool dude like that..
Pretty much! I get it every once in awhile, Clear it and move on, Everyone gets that frick'n code. But then again heres what Johan had to say about it on another forum. So maybe there is a solve. From Here!
The 0300 is a rough one to get out if you have a big cam and tight LSA. It doesn't make enough vacuum to keep everybody happy and will normally throw a code coming off a heavy throttle. And what Johan said. Most guys with big cams get it and live with it. Your tuner may be able to get you dialed in. Scott doesn't get it cause he's got a little bump stick. oh:
Welp,Next time I see ya I'll be more then happy to pull it out and show ya just how little it is.:thongue2: Ya Dik..
Yeah, Johan is the one that has my tune, and has yet to get it back to me Andy from PPP (well, you know what I mean) forwarded it onto him about 3 weeks ago, and he still hasn't looked at it, that's why I'm reaching out. If anyone knows anyone who could take a look at this for me, I'd love it if you could forward them the link to this thread!! Thanks for all the input fellas. And thanks for the link, Cam. You guys rule!!!! And BTW.......Scott's "bumpstick" is just purrrrrfect.
After getting much feedback. It seems like I would just want that "rev limiter" to be raised to 5K, instead of totally removed. Thanks for the help guys, I should have somebody helping me with this today!!
Did you get this fixed? If you would like me to take care of this send your tunefile to [email protected] I'll turn it right back around to you it only takes a minute. Bob
In case you don't know Chase. This is Bob at SVS in Sacramento. Hi Bob I think everything is taken care by what this thread says.
Chase, I used to get this code daily for a year and finally ignored it. After I got re-tuned at SVS I got it twice. I did the above and haven't had it since.
Well it helps if you can actually drive your car...oh: /me runs and hides reeeeeeeeeealllllllllllllllllyyyyyyy good.
