Just got my car back from the bodyshop last week. Long story summarized; I got rear ended for the 2nd time in February. Autobody shop took my car to a muffler shop. Muffler shop crashed my car into a concrete parking block, split the bumper all that way up. Then they used a flame to heat the stainless steel pipes, ruined my exhaust. I just went and got the exhaust reinstalled this Saturday, 4 days ago. Today I'm driving from a customer site to my office, some assclown in a Toyota truck jerks hard to the right to make his exit, sheds some debris off the bed of his truck which goes right into my front end. The debris sticks for a moment then I feel it disintegrate and flush under the car and out the back. :chair::chair::chair::chair::chair::chair: The assclown in the truck is long gone, I had no chance in hell of making that offramp to chase him down. I check my front end, some scratching ... actually all if not almost all of it looks like it'll buff out with some effort. Except around the fog light where the bumper cracked severely, the same spot that was wrecked and repaired because of the muffler shop. So clearly looks like the weakened plastic just ruptured on impact. JUST got the goddamn thing back ... in fact, the trunk isn't even fully fixed because it wont close right, seems like the rear bumper is mounted too high, but a minor fix when I go back to the shop next. Seems like next is going to be sooner than later. So. Freaking. Frustrated. :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious:
damn dude, i hate to hear that, i hope you get it back to normal and soon, get this nightmare behind you!
Wow, you seem to be handling it well. I think I'd need to be medicated long before now. Hope it all gets better. (don't buy any lotto tickets)
I don't think I'm handling this one so well. I can't even work. I feel like going and doing horrible things to immigrants and stray animals. :bang: :aggressive: Best I can hope for is to call the bodyshop and tell them that since it failed at the point of repair within a week, that it was a defective repair since nothing else was even really scratched that shouldn't be fixable with some major buffage. Then they can either replace the bumper or fix it, it's supposed to be a lifetime warranty on the repair. Then at least it's not on my dollar. I could care less if it's not on my dollar.
Seems like you have a good case. If it only failed at the point of repair then it wasn't repaired to the strength/condition of the rest of the bumper.
just go back and be like man I thought you fixed this. see what they say. If not just let it be. I have a key mark from the second day I bought the car. It gives it flavor
yea, I got some scratches on my drivers side mirror that have been there from day one and the bottom of my air damn is all rashed out but wtf.
I had some tool with a towhitch back into the Charger just six months after I got her. I was more sad than anything.
