Chris, did you know there is a whole 'nother navigation line above the post header in the upper left corner? "previous thread/next thread" navigation at the bottom of the page? ... actually it's all over the place. no wonder you don't get around this site very quickly [edit] Crap, didn't notice that the poster nickname over to the left is in red too... I have a horrible eye for color combos (which explains why I only wear black, if I were to wear anything with color dear lord I would like like Nevin's neon) What color would you suggest?
Red is such an overpowering type color, one of the hardest for the eye to actually read in text form. That's why it's use is generally limited to one or two words, or headlines, that warrant special attention. On people's computer screens, where you have no control over how the colors are calibrated, it's especially important to be careful. I suggest limiting the use of other colors, apart from black/gray, that you put in combination with red. It's pretty easy to overlook the private messages link (that's why LXF has a big color block that appears when you get a message). An easy solution would be to simply have the PM link in black, and the PM/Unread #, in bold when a message come in. Won't miss that! It would then look like this: Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 34. Private Messages: Unread 2, Total 34. or even just the message/number if space is an issue: Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 34. Private Messages: Unread 2, Total 34. Or.... Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 34. Private Messages: Unread 2, Total 34.

chris - much better...... thank you for showing compassion to those of us not so lucky to be given the ability to see color...... i was dealt a rough hand in life and i have had to battle through the challenges and embarrassment of not knowing what colors are.... i have spent my life dealing with the insensitive types (read momo and ron) who ridicule me becasue of my handicap...... anyone need a tissue yet.......hahahahahahahahhaa seriously chris, thanks!!!
