Based on the recommendations here, I ordered the Bendix brakes for my car. I installed them and they squeaked non-stop. So, I turned all 4 rotors, sanded/scuffed up the pads, reinstalled everything and bedded in the brake pads. Now the brakes sound quiet when the car is cold. If I drive around and get some heat into the pads they start to squeal every time. But it only happens as I come to a stop. From high speed or hard stopping they're quiet. But get them hot and slowly stop and they squeal.

I thought about installing a different set of pads, but these do work great EXCEPT for the squeaking....

I'm at my wits end with these pads. I've never had a car that did this. It makes driving the SRT8 unbearable. Does anyone have any suggestions or is this just something the Bendex pads do when they get hot?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My Dad had auto parts stores in Ohio. He wouldn't sell Bendix back in the 60's because they squealed.

Zechhausen is a Supporting Vendor here now, since they are the Brake EXPERTS, give Dave a call. I am sure he can assist you on this one.

The only time I notice my pads squealing is when I'm slowly backing out of the garage. At least I think its the pads. It's the same noise I had with my Brembo pads. Which makes sense because Brembo purchases the pad composition from Bendix/Jurid. Our brakes have the Jurid stamp on them.

Try scuffing the rotors with 80-grit. I have hear that the two different brake pad compound may not play nice with each other. There may be a film of brake pad compound on the rotor not leeting the new compund seat on the rotor.

This is an old thread. Just to update everyone, I ended up giving Dave at Zechhausen a call to see what he thought. He recommended I switch to Posi-quiet pads. I tried them and have not heard one noise since them. I didn't do anything but switch pads and that was it. It sure is nice not having a squeaky care. I would highly recommend Dave and Zechhausen for any brake questions.

If you have a Metallic Pad, some times they squeak vs Ceramic.

The squealing let's you know it's working! j/k There are days I curse my brakes. Embarrassing on a warm day as you squeal up to the intersection. I do like the noises that the car makes when I leave the intersection. A different kind of squealing.

THey are the stock breaks does not matter what is said. you have to bead all breaks when installed or cut rotors. I did hawk pads and am happy after tring all that is out there and no dust.

since you turned the rotors and properly bed them .. I think you have done all you can do man. I had posi-quiets on my car and they were quiet and I was happy with them .. the stopping was ok though ..

I have EBC yellow stuffs on now, they squell when cold but one hard stop or braking at highway speeds makes them perfectly quiet .. city drivings the biggest bitch, but I usually blame it on the cabs beside me!

The only other thing I can think of is, maybe your rotors have been turned too many times .. maybe its time to update your rotors .. R1 Concepts have good deals on rotors usually .. I dont know if they are a vendor here, but I think you can purchase them from BMC or HHP shit like that .. GL
