That's right. On my way home today, after picking up my Charger from stereo equipment install, my transmission decided she was done. Couldn't even get up a hill, all she did was slip!!! So that's when this happened......

I hope I never see that site again!!!! This only happened after 3500 miles on my 426. I knew it was gonna happen eventually, but I thought I could at least make it til next year when I do my supercharger. Maybe this 426 I got from PPP is more stout than I thought!!!! [IMG]
ANYWAY!! I now need a built transmission for my sled. Who's gonna help me?? Builder Bill?? BMC Performance?? Southern HotRod?? What options do I have?? Can my stock one be upgraded and rebuilt?? I know 2 things about tranny work.....jack, and shit!!!! Who can help me here, and what are my options???!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Holy Crap Chase, I didn't think I would see this from you...:(

I would strongly suggest A Builder Bill Setup...We are using one in Rubbel's Build as well as in Lisa's Chally build.

Contact him directly or give Lisa a shout at the shop.

How bout we recommend one of our vendors rather than a non vendor?

Chase, where did you have the car towed? You should at least have the Dealer take a look see. Could be something else?

chase - you really have two good options....

builder bill and southern hot rod. both of them you can deal direct with and both are very good folks! they will take care of you. shr is a vendor here!!

btw - might be a stupid question, but could you have other issues???? convertor gone bad, or something else??? with only 3500 miles on the motor, and i doubt they were rough ones, i am a bit perplexed as to why your tranny would give out completely..... i spoke with builder bill in great lengths at the last shin dig, and he said these trannies are good up to about 600rwhp. i do not think you are beyond that, nor are you flogging your car at the track on a regular basis as far as i know. before you jump at the tranny (which is not a bad idea hehehehe) i would check other things first to rule things out. although if i was you, and a blower was in the future, i would probably be calling builder bill or shr too!!! lol matter of fact, when bill comes out with some axles, i will be one of the first in line for them!!! lol good luck buddy!

I knew the guy who towed me, so he took great care of my baby, and gave me a great price. I know it's the tranny though. It wouldn't even shift out of second gear or go above 45mph on the drive home, right before this happened. :( And she was acting all kinds of funny on the way there a few days ago. I knew something was coming.......
I found a tranny on ebay with only 13K miles on it for $690. But how far is that gonna get me......I'd probably be wasting $$$$ as I'll need a built trans next year when I get a supercharger anyway. But what I'm wondering, is could I have a local shop repair and upgrade my stock one for a few hundred bucks until then???

I talked with Andy at PPP earlier today, and he seems to think it's the trans. Could the torque converter ALONE be the culprit of the car not shifting out of second gear?????

depends on what your local shop knows about this nag1 trannies????? i am guessing, probably not much considering what relative few options we have for companies really doing anything with these trannies of ours!!!

Sorry to hear this, Chase!! Your car is so gorgeous and I hate to see you are having issues. We have some new goodies on the way to you as you know, but I guess they will be "get well soon" presents.

I know you've dealt with all our staff before and Kris already posted offering help, but I wanted to also say that if we can help you, please give us a call. I have my Builder Bill transmission semi-ordered and he could have it done in just a couple days (since I am waiting on my motor) so if you need to get one fast, you can take my slot. :) Just let me know, and we'll do whatever we can to help you!

    Lisa.

But if you'd be kind enough to PM me some pricing, that'd be great!!! And thanks for the compliments as well......

LOL That just kind of popped in my head.
The one thing you'll enjoy when you get a built one is not having to worry about it anymore.

    Damn Chase that sucks. :(

Im wondering what happened to your tranny??I have been beating the pi$$
out of mine for a few years now with out issues.Last time I dynoed I was
around 540 hp 585tq so Im really curious.

Anyways I hear good things about both Trannys that are out there. From what I understand one is less expensive. On that note HemiC which has the current record for the LX platform tells me his Southern HR tranny works flawlessly. ROBSRT who is in the top 5 w/ numourous 10 second passes also states the same thing.

Anyways good luck on your choice and sorry again about your bitchin ride..
