It was good times and a good turn out. Everything went off without a hitch. Pics and vids coming soon. Looking forward to the next one. Maybe you can make it then.
Too tired. Ron and I never got our race in. My car had all kinds of issues. Torque management issues, even with CMR taking it all out. I had the fastest stock block there. Scott was making adjustments to my car, and finally got got an 11.85 at 117. I think Ron did an 11.92 earlier in the day, before Scott's tuning. I think we both have 2 to 4 tenths available in the morning. My N2O bottle is empty. Can't get it filled till after 11, so a good air run may not happen today. We are going to SpeedWorld to today run with the Viper Trucks. I had a full tank of gas when we got there yesterday. Ron had a half. So I was spotting Ron at least 200 lbs. Scott weighs 120 less than me. I think my car could have done 11.50's in the morning. I don't think anyone was running 11's in the mid afternoon, other than my car, when we got our quickest run. Only a 1.74 60. Should be doing 1.6's. So Ron's got some tuning, my car's working better now. Just need some N20. If I didn't have to worry about getting the car back to Cali, I'd bump the timing and run a 150 shot. LOL As the drama builds.
thanks for the update hal...... hope all goes smoothly today as well and you and ron can get your match race in!!
Yea, 'cause there's going to be a lot of drama when we try to settle the $250,000 book without a side by side race... "Well Ron ran this time then and Hal ran that time then and if we correct for this and that..." it's going to be ugly.
Well, remember at the last rumble, Hal broke his halfshaft racing little ol' me! Just gotta stay tuned. For all the smack talk between these two over the past what, year or three? There's gotta be a race!
Well, ummm, yes, things may be a bit sticky at the moment... I'm in Tahoe for the weekend and it just seemed like a good idea at the time to "invest" a bit of the book at the tables (OK, so it ended up being a little more than a bit). Depending on the outcome I could still be golden since I biased the odds towards one of those guys but due to the unfortunate experience at the tables getting middled isn't a pretty picture any more. I'm thinking disappearing into the mountains might not be so bad. It's very scenic up here.
It is like a boxing match with each fighter either being hurt or overweight before the fight... So we wait for: "HalV48 vs 1Bad4dr III"
Guys - any final numbers yet? Let's see those record timeslips. That's your first trip in the 11's isn't it Hal? New record for Ron too, isn't it?
I was just happy to get my first pass on a 1/4 mile track after rain or my boss managed to sabotage my 5 previous attempts. First pass was the best pass: 12.903 @ 107.53 1.967 60 ft (autostick, 1 push on the esp button) Drag radials are the only way to go. Even with my 275/40's I lost traction every single launch. The only thing that helped was leaving the traction control complete on, other than pressing it once.
oh they will find you....... remember, i lived up in nor-cal and spent many a visit to tahoe...... know the place well and the mountains even better (lots of harley rides!!!) lol oh btw, tahoe is HORRIBLE for gambling....... i always take it to reno for table action...... hehehehehehe
Well we ran twice today at SpeedWorld. 1st run Ron didn't have his fire jacket on. They let us run anyway, but give us a .500, 1 bulb tree. We didn't know what happened, so just took off. DA was arount 2650. It was after 1:30 before we made our 1st runs. I needed a N2O refill this morning. It wasn't done till about noon. The morning whould have produced some stout times. The track altitude is around 1250. I was supposed to have had a battery pack for the weekend, so I had a hard time balancing running the fans and the bottle heater and not killing my battery. Ron's best today was a 11.82, and mine was a 11.92. 11.50's and 11.60's where obtainable this weekend if we had put it all together at one time in the morning. We had a blast. 1st run was ugly, winner had a .449 reaction advantange, and a .049 et advantage. My car was running at 210 when I launched. Take out the difference of reaction time, and it's really a very close race. .906 Reaction 1.355 1.879 60' 1.895 5.16 330' 5.176 7.847 1/8 7.846 90.632 1/8 91.061 10.097 1000' 10.129 12.094 1/4 12.143 116.760 1/4 117.348 2nd race .076 Reaction .141 1.690 60' 1.837 4.995 330' 5.091 7.697 1/8 7.764 90.641 1/8 90.420 9.970 1000' 10.037 11.967 1/4 12.068 119.967 1/4 115.021 This one was 1 car length. So it ended up 2-0. We had alot of fun yesterday and today. I'm really tired. I was going to run DanR NA, but they closed the track at 3:30. We thought they where open till 5:00. He was running like a bear, doing 12.60's.
