What did you pay to install cam in 6.1

    Want to know what it cost (labor only) to install a cam in a 6.1.....got a friend thinking about doing a cam....

    I did mine with a couple friend's help so it cost me a nice dinner for everybody, but a full days work (8-10 hours). So I'd figure $600-$900 if you're paying a shop to do it.

    I think book calls for almost 10 hours.You may want to contact Milan.He got a sweet deal.But they are not vendors here...

    Hell...I know we have a lot of people here with cams....I am wanting this info for a friend that has a shop to do the install but still negoitiating price..

    I paid $1500 total for my install, but that included the cam,fluids and Josh at HHP custom tuned it afterwards. I'm betting most people would charge around $700 or $800 for labor. I believe the book calls for about 8-10 hours of labor so it really depends on the hourly rate the shop is charging.

    Havent I seen somewhere $650 install for heads/cam/headders?

    I charge $450 for a cam only,and $650 for cam/heads/headers+ fluids unless you bring your own.
