I'm probably the only person who goes to a shop to pick up @20hp and ends up getting @130.. Initailly all i wanted was to get a custom tune for my diablo, then I saw some of the tricks that coul be applied to my beast. I planned on getting a line-lock and esp/bas killswitch. Then i thought about a 90mm throttle body and some port work.. being that this was on labor day weekend i had plenty of free time to dream about the power that i could obtain from stepping up to a stroker. I am truly obsessed with my beast, even wake up in the middle of the night, only to realize that it is still in the shop. The last three weeks have been a blur.. work, eat, sleep, dream(about the reunion of my car and I) I can't say that i have the money to do this at the time, but would I ever? Sometimes I see all of these people on here buying some bolt on each week to add performance, I was the same way, I think they might be happier if they were to take the plunge like I did. Back to my story here.. decided I wanted/needed it all- long tubeheaders, torque converter, 90mm tb, line-lock, and the stroker itself. I realize that my build is not as complete as some others out there, but I'm only 27 and plan to keep it as a work in progress. maybe I should have never went to the track. ran in the 13's the first time, 12's the second time.. 11's the third time would be amazing! Anyways I thought I would share my "addicted to performance story".
Welcome to the Club. The modworm has taken control as you know. I myself spent a buttload and went all out in the first few weeks of May...but I'm happy as hell with it. Congrats on the build! But who is LMSpeed? Are they a vendor at LXF?
I spent $12,000 on my last car...i bought this car and was like "OK...THIS IS AN SRT8...IT DOESNT NEED A THING!!!!!!!"... less than a day later it was in the shop getting the exhaust put on
I sure wish I could have gotten even close to that bill on my car....Speed is a sick, sick addiction, that costs way too much, BUT its so damn fun! LOL Congrats on your new purchase!
yes, they are a vendor on at LXF. When i dropped my car off for the tune the owner gave me and tour and answered all of my questions pertaining to engines and performance mods. some places act like you are ignorant if you don't already know all of this stuff, he took the time to explain everything that crossed my mind... poor guy.
Most of you guy are trying to keep up with the JONES. Forget every 1 else, set out a plan and keep to it. Its a little differant for me as im 65 (retired with fixed income ) and been through back in the 60s what your going through now. Beleive me its not worth it. When i got the JEEP i set up what i was going to do and tried to stuck with it. The biggest problem that theres so much more today that we didnt have back then. 1- Keep it stock and be happy with what it runs. Best was in the 1/8 is 8.39 @ 81.72 2- Well then i fig i would get a preditor and crm tune and thats it and i did and im happy with the outcome. Best in the 1/8 is 8.22 @ 83.83 not bad for a race weight of 5090 lbs. 3- Im done with the mods and i can live with it. GSM CAI,PREDITOR, CMR TUNE and 180 stat and everything else is bone stock. 4- My goal is stay with these mods and get into the 8.0s
