well it happened last night.....

    The cursed fire in the dash our cars have a problem with.. was driving down the street dash lights went out, dash started smoking... pulled the column cover and had melted wires... this blows.... does dodge have a recall for this problem yet?

    Daum... that sucks. Glad it was just some smoke and melted wires... could have definitely been a LOT worse.

    Billy that sucks! I've heard/read about this. I don't know if Dodge has a recall on it but I believe it has something to do with the steering wheel column switch. Big square plug located on the left side of the steering wheel column... is this the plug/switch with the burnt wires?

    yes it is the wiring going to the multi function switch. i rigged my headlamps and tails to turn on with the car for now till i can get this fixed.

    That sucks...this makes me glad I re-wired my fog lights off of the MFS.

    I guess I should re-do the Mrs fogs too, just in case.

    I've looked at mine a couple times....Never smoked (yet) but the plastic connector has definitely been heated up. It's got a little blackening on it and is warped and cracked....I suppose it's only a matter of time....

    take it to the stealership now and have them warrenty it... before it melts and they blame you, then make you pay 1300 + labor for a new harness
