Figured I'd start this thread since I just voted... :usflag: No need to list who you voted for, just post that you voted and if you saw anything interesting at your polling place. I went to my polling location at 7:15 am and only had to wait 30 minutes. Everyone was pretty quiet, a few older guys making harmless jokes, but otherwise all smiles, pardon mes and the like. The joke I heard was: The high school football team is flunking their classes, so the football coach made a deal with the principal. Every player had to answer one question correctly to pass. "The answer to this question is one word. Old MacDonald had a ______ ." One player whispered to another player "I don't know the answer, what did Old MacDonald have?" "You're pretty dumb, Old MacDonald had a farm." "How do you spell farm?" "Everybody knows that! E-I-E-I O!" .................................................... Anyway, I'm feeling much less cranky now that I've voted. Back to homework and prepping the apartment for my mom's visit.
Tried to vote, wait was up 2 flights of stairs, and out the door to the street. I had school to get to, and skipped. Ill be back tonight before they close.
Funny one Tam..........and I voted early about 2wks ago...took about 30 minutes........they didnt have voting machines...gave me a paper with the names and circles next to them...you just darken the circle in like taking test in school....they put the paper in a scanner and you are done....I think it moved the line about 3 times faster than the electronic machines the last time I voted..
Out here they have paper ballots with arrows with a blank in the middle that you have to fill in for the candidate/selection. I never knew drawing a straight line was so difficult! And yes, way faster than the electronic machines. Considering how everyone takes two years at an ATM, you'd think they'd know its a literal waste of time to use electronic ballots. Vote vote vote!!! :usflag: I only voted in person because I have a paranoia about mailing my vote in, considering I got mis-registered as a Democrat the last time I registered by mail. :sly:
yeah, i also voted absentee....though my work thinks that i am right now in fact voting. hahah we get 4 hrs paid for going to vote.
Yeah, Marc's taking the afternoon off. Well, last part of the day considering he started work early at 6:30 and takes off at 10:30.
hahahahahahahahaha too damn funny larry. if i wasnt so pissed about them making me miss sema i may just post his email address for you.
Nothing interesting at my polling place...I was hoping to see a nekad woman, but the Mrs wouldn't oblige...:dunno2: Absentee Ballots = full of win!!!
Went mid-morning with the wife, was dead although the workers there said first thing this morning was jam packed and they expected after work to be just as busy. Only thing I got to say is what the hell is with the ballots this year, they're HUGE!! And what's with drawing in lines?!?! Is the average person so stupid that we have to have connect-the-dot ballots now, geez. Last time it was electronic and a snap. The time before was with good ole punch-out ballots, again a snap. This time was dumb. My 2 cents.
