so me and a few buddies went to the local 1/4 mile track last night and what i saw there was a sad sad sight, silver nsrt. he was runnin 14.7 and trapping 103mph. so i flagged him down and asked what he had done to the car. he popped the hood and i am still sickend by what i found. he swore up and down that he bought it this way. no cat, ebay wga. and NO BOV just a block off plate. stock intake, stock ic pipes and he was running 21psi. i about slapped him. the car when he went down the track would make the bloff off sound and back fire like a bitch, but i am assuming the sound was coming out of a poorly sealed block off plate. that air needs somewhere to go somewhere, can u say compressor surge, so i told him to stop running it and find someone with a stock bov for now or if he had the money to get aftermarket. i also to him to get on here for more advice. we will see if he does. -zack i just cant believe how bad of a hack jobs that some people do to these cars
That is so AWsOMe! can i do it too! i have to admit though When i installed my mopar "BOV" i installed 180* off. Drove it for about 20miles and knew what i did. i felt really stupid. i got the one on my wifes PT first shot. i think i was in a hurry to hear it on the car.
I bet there was no gasket on the BOP and it was venting out of that. That is sooo messed up though. Poor skittle.
lol I bet that shaft is looser than a 2 dollar hooker. I bet the BOP is sealed otherwise he wouldn't be making that kind of boost.
yeah he acted like it was no big deal...guess he didnt follow my advice and get on here to talk about it....
