So yesterday wasn't too bad, just your usual Monday. Maddy was being her fussy, don't know what she wants self. Marc worked a 10 hour shift because of a snafu at work. Well, today he's working another 10 hour shift, as the snafu just keeps getting uglier and tomorrow he'll work another. Also, he just found out he's getting 10 days of furlough he has to take in week-long increments between now and the end of the fiscal year (Sept 30). This translates to essentially a 4% paycut since he's salary. 4% is roughly what he gets in a raise each year, sometimes more than what he gets as a raise. I guess this is better than being laid off and maybe it means the company can't afford to layoff anyone this year. Also, Madeline scooted herself right off the edge of the bed onto her head a while ago. She seems okay, just overtired and after a bottle and some mommy-time she fell asleep. Still, quite a scare for both of us. Now I just have five different homework assignments to get done by 9 pm tonight...:dumb:
yikes... Ya know, I fell on my head MANY times as an infant and I turned out ok... eeeeer, maybe not. no wait, no. Yea, I am ok. No wait....
Well, I checked her over and there aren't any obvious booboos or problems, and it was past her nap time (she fights naptime like she's in a boxing match). I'm gonna check on her in a bit to make sure she's breathing ok. But yeah, gonna keep an eye on her the next 24 hours just in case. If anything maybe she'll have some respect for gravity now...doubt it...she's hardheaded like my mom. ALSO, the bed in question is a mattress and boxsprings on the floor. So it wasn't even two feet. I'm concerned, but I'm not freaked.
If she has a concussion her eyes will water even though she isn't crying and she will be very lethargic. She could also be pale and have trouble focusing. If she isn't doing any of that I am betting she is fine.
Both of my kids have banged their heads as toddlers and even drew blood. Kids are pretty resilient. When you ever get out of high stress mode, come by for lunch sometime.
Back to normal now, cute, dancing, jabbering, getting into everything. Not even a bump or a bruise. Apparently just a REALLY good scare. Raymond, thinking next week or two I'll be out of the woods at least between quarters. I'll text/call then.
