LOL! He got me for tinted tails!! I was driving a Chrysler exec on a little ride and just got done getting "INTO" it. He was coming the opposite direction and had not even seen my tails by the time he knew he was pulling me over.

I was in the turn lane and he rolled up to the light and as soon as you left he was all over you. Thought he was going to break his neck as fast as he turned his head after hearing your exhaust...
actually its a very easy one to fight it's not that it is illegal but its all about the proper amount of light output that the tinted tails are allowing, now there is no way the cop could tell if you were putting out the correct light output. Look up the state laws on this and fight it Just checked your screwed CA statues specifically say that Taillights must be red, and must be visible from 1000 ft. (only 500 ft if built before '69). (The smoked taillights will appear black, and will ahve reduced light output).
Yep (in a nutshell) in Calif we are not allowed to decrease by any any amount, the illumination from any of the vehicles stock lighting system... for use on any public roadway...
wow....... i guess my black tail lights would get me into a little trouble!! i knew there was one or two things i did not miss about cali!!! smog checks are the other one!!!
