Holy crap Ron! I saw that storm coming in but I all I got was a buttload of water. I didn't know it was that bad down by u. My x lives up the street in ventana and she didn't get anything like that. You must have been right in the middle of that shit. Glad to see its just a flesh wound.

Oh hey that stupid homelink crap still doesn't work!

A Swamp Cooler is Dry Climates version of an A/C. It is run by a HUGE Wheel (Like a mouse exercise wheel). Three sides have burlap filters that get soaked with water. The wheel creates a vortech and pushes the cold air throughout ducts to cool the house.

This only works when the humidity level is under 10%.

The Beige box on the side of the house is a Swamp Cooler.

    not true.
it depends on what the outside temp is and the humidity.
you can still get decient cooling at around 50% humidity.
let me get a humidity chart. Paula has one at her desk. she works at a HVAC company.

    Nevin,

if it is 80+ degree's out and over 15% humidity the swamp cooler is a piece of crap.

Dude, you need to check your math again cause you are showing a decrease in temps. lol

And you can show me charts all you want, they mean shit. Charts are theory, not actual. Also, it varies from house to house and area to area.

Bottom line is Swamp Coolers SUCK ASS!
