Since my SRT came with stock 245x45x20 stock; is the 275x45x20 too tall? Any clearance issues with that size or like above is the best size 275x40x20?

275/40's are the better choice. 275/45 won't clear the front suspension, or so we are told.

I did a ton of lookup and reading on 275/45's for replacement after my Toyo's, on all of the forums. There's a lot of choice in this size and I'd like to have the extra rubber to fill my non-lowered fender gap a lil more.

Most people are conviced they won't fit but there are a *small few* who think they will. Some 275/45 tires will fit... and some won't... the clearance is that tight. However, the tires that fit, will very realistically not work at speed. The rotational expansion will erode the knuckle bolt gap and you might start smelling burned rubber at 100mph or so. This has happened on a 5.7L, I don't know though if the 6.1L knuckle is *taller* instead of just being *wider*.

If I were making a recommendation I'd say the 255/45 is the tallest tire to safely put on the front. The 275/40 is a mouse hair shorter.

    275/40 - 28.67"
    245/45 - 28.69"
    255/45 - 29.04"
    275/45 - 29.75"

Trolling the tire threads... looking for a super duper recommendation... and I didn't notice this last time. I work on 9th St.

If I knew what car you drove I'd try to honk at ya. I'm a black 300... tinted.

There's pretty much a consensus now on tires for our cars.

    Tied for First

    • Vred's and Nitto NT05's - only drawback is expense. Figure $850 for both.
    Also rans

    • Toyo Proxes - Damn good tire for the money but not the equal of the tires above.
    • GYF1's - Great tire but expensive, noisy at the end of the lifespan and equally scarey in the rain at 50% tread and lower
    • Nitto Invos - Expensive and really not exemplary in any other way
    • Falken 452's - You can find these really cheap, like $550 if you look carefully. Great tire for highway driving as they are scary quiet and the tread lasts forever.
For me, if you really drive your car quickly through turns and enjoy throwing the car around Vred's and NT05's seem to be the ticket. Toyo's only enter the picture if you want/need to save another $200 and you're willing to settle for 95% of the handling characteristics.

    Thanks for that input!

I've got a slightly different set of criteria though, but it's still been really helpful reading reviews you and some others have written. I want all season so the NT05's and some of those others are out. Straight line grip is more important to me than tracking so I'd prolly go for the P4's over the Vred's if it came to those.

P4 prices have been jacked though! They're much higher than they were 2 years ago. At the top of my list are the Yoko Parada Spec-X which like the P4 sound like they doo fairly well at a lot of different things without excelling in any one. Straight line grip excepted, the P4's were great. Yoko's are as cheap as P4's were back in the day.

Is there a vendor here who has these?
