Yes, not a pro driver? You gotta be kidding me for ANYONE to run that fast around the Nurburgring they better damn well be a great driver. Thats like calling Tony Swan the editor of Car and Driver a journalist and not a pro driver, he has 11 years of One Lap of America racing experience with countless other racing experience. And the driver of the ZR1 said theres only another half a second at best in the ZR1.

And that argument goes both ways, how many months was the ZR-1 there tuning? How many millions of dollars did GM spend? SRT spent 100,000 and did 5 laps and beat its time unlike the GTR and the ZR1 the ACR was tuned or designed for the nurburgring and it still whooped them. Just imagine if SRT had months and factory support behind them to get the suspension dialed in correctly the driver got completely familiar with the car he would be in the low teens.

The GTR is a good vehicle for the price Im not going to question that, but most if not all vipers are selling at MSRP not because dealers dont want to mark them up but because Dodge will not allow it. And yes car companies have the power unlike what most people think, allocations of cars like the Viper, Challenger, or any of the SRT cars is controlled by Dodge incentives from the factory etc etc. So for 70,000 the GTR is a good vehicle for the markup price its a piece of crap no way around it. And you can get a Z06 for the same price as the MSRP GTR.

But this is all mute once again I state the GTR has yet to beat the Viper in any track on any given day in any given magazine test, in any given race. The GTR is a performance car the Viper has launched into supercar territory its comparing apples to oranges.
