Well I would first like to thank Techco for a very nice product in the Twin Screw. Now, on with the short story. lol Well it has been nearly four long months, but I finally took possession of 1bad4dr yesterday morning. What was suppose to be a blower swap (Paxton for the Twin Screw) ended up being a blower swap and engine rebuild. Yes, there was a lot of bumps in the road during the motor build, but we all worked to resolve issues and move forward, and I can't think of any company that shined more than CMW and Techco. The drive home. All I can say is WOW! This car drives as smooth as the day I bought her, minus the immediate POWER when the gas peddle is pressed. lol Techco went conservative on the tune because we were losing fuel pressure up top of the power band (5800rpms). Techco decided that lowering the Rev limiter to 6K rpms would be the safest until I can upgrade my fuel Delivery system. Even with the conservative tune, she put down 570rwhp (at 10psi) and 623rwt (at 4K rpm peak) with much more on the table (and I am still using an OEM spec'd camshaft). To give an example, there is "only" 13* of timing. haha The Torque really pushes this anchor like nobodies business and breaks traction at any gear at any speed. Wooooo Hoooo (Traction is for sissies). The drive ability is so smooth, you forget that the power is there. Shifting is smooth and seamless (I like it that way) and the MPG has reached 20 thus far. Techco has reworked their noise issues coming off the blower as well, so it is much quieter than I have heard before. :worthy: Again, thank you Techco and CMW (another thread coming for CMW) for working with CMW and myself during the trying times and not giving up. It shows great character and your willingness to learn, adapt, and overcome any and all obstacles.
Ron, thank you very much for the post. we have gone through our bumps and bruises during your build. Techco has learned a lot through this and we appreciate your patience. I would also like to thank CMW for working through this with us. You guys make a mean motor!!! It is very nice when you can get two separate companies working together with one goal in mind "Make sure the customer is taken care of and given the best possible performing vehicle around. Thank you Ron for going with Techco and we look forward to working with you in the future. NOW GET SOME TIRES!!!!! thanks again and enjoy your beast!!!!
cant wait to see it! Ron, I was with you every step of the way on this build. The goods the bads I went through it with you because you are one of my dearest friends. So to know the outcome was so POSITIVE is not only a huge relief but exciting to know you got was you need and deserve! BRAVO all who had their hands on this car, and thank you for taking care of my snickerdoodle Ron.
kudos to techco and cmw!!!! nice to see vendors put their heads together and come up with a collective resolution to get to a positive outcome!! this will only further help the lx crowd as we look to push these cars further and further!!! oh yeah, i have not doubt ron is still smiling!!! lol
It is great news to hear that it all worked out for everyone involved in the project. Do you have any idea what TECHCO did to resolve the noise issue? I have already become acclimated to the noise, but interested in how TECHCO made it quiter.
I "Think" they reworked the screws with a different material. I am sure someone from Techco can answer that much better than I. lol Chuck, call me when you get a chance.
Wondered if they were going to fix that noise.....kinid of like a "spun bearing" sound. I think it sounded sort of like a harmonics problem. ..
Congrats Ron.....maybe someday I can leave the porch and run with the big dogs.... Enjoy the improvements.
You're nuts.... there was an old lady walking down the sidewalk with a walker going faster than you were driving!!! I would say you were driving like a girl, but I'm afraid you may start crying!!!!
glad everything worked out in the end Ron. Its nice to have these good vendors out there!! hope the car continues to bring a smile to your face .. now .. :ban: if you dont post pictures and plans for upcoming mods .. also when you mounting the rims?? Snehal, are you kidding .. Ron's hung like a light switch! Seriously, Ron's about an inch away from being a woman! LMAO!
