ok, i couldn't wait for the truck to drop the roof off to me in the afternoon, so i went to pick it up last friday morning. as soon as i opened the box, i noticed something was wrong. really wrong! john ended up sending me the wrong weave. EVERYTHING on my ride is 6k thread and the roof came 3k, sht. of course john is on vaca till next monday, so nothing can be resolved untill then. 2nd the weave goes the opposite direction, which i new. 3rd the new product he used, made a cloudy clear, not good. you can't really see it, only in certain light and direction. my options, leave the roof and change the hood and decklid to 3k. send the roof back and have him do it again, but in 6k, with the standard process. forget the hole thing. the roof is not adhere'd and the channel strips are not on. the drivers side strip is just laying there to give the effect. let me know what you guyz think? please don't post this anywhere else. this is the only website with pix. thanks! btw the fitment is dead on............ i'll try to take more pix in better light. also the roof lip and spoiler don't go in silver. so, i'll have to paint them or cf them to go better.
Wow Jimmy, that actually flows better than I imagined. As for the dilemma, I would certainly have your guy fix this the way it was suppose to be made.
jimmy, from the pics, i cant see a thing wrong with it. actually the thread flowing in the opposite direction might be pretty cool, kinda catching your eye...but you know what you like. looks really good dude.
I'd say you definitely want the weave to be identical on all pieces. Kind of like having the wood grain matched on a fine peice of furniture.
but look at the good part.. i was too busy looking at your roof to even look at your miscolored ground effx... ha roof looks sweet
Looks good, but I know what you are saying about the weave going opposite directions and being the wrong thread count. Anybody that is into carbon fiber will notice right away the weave not flowing in the same direction, but the thread count you could probably get away with. 12k is actually a lot closer to your 6k, than the 3k. I agree that you should have them do it in either 6k to match your other stuff. But if this is a one-off then you are probably stuck with it. Getting all new trunk and hood is gonna be costly.
Dude you have the best looking charger ever hands down. That car is sweet. I would say send it back though you paid all that money better to get what you paid for then to settle. you going to have fenders made like fatchance?
thanks man! in person, you see the weave direction clearer. if it came in 6k, i wouldn't mind. regardless, it's going back to get done with the 6k or 12k. i hoping 6k. i'll keep you guyz updated. thanks bud! good example! thanks! i think? i'm trying to stay away from downgrading to 3k, at all cost. this will get done and has to get done. thanks bro! nah, i'm trying to not overdue the cf. i'm picking specific pcs only. if i where to do the fenders, i'd have to do the entire car. to many civics with that style. it'll work out, plus i'm sending them other parts to get cf'd at the same time. you'll have to wait and see. thank you, sir! it will.
But truthfully I wouldnt have noticed about the weave size or direction. I think only someone very familiar with CB would have caught that.
