ok cool, keep that in mind. i know the feeling, when i drive my girls truck i get that funny look, plates read "BAD KITY".....
ya know sometimes its just called shitty luck. I applaud everyone for standing up and saying "hey there is an issue" and not even sugar coating the situation. Best of luck Ron and I am so sorry this has happened, but my confidence in Techco and CMW has gone through the roof in a very positive way for not only standing up but running toward the situation to resolve it!
Wow Ron, I feel your pain, just when you think your down the home stretch, all hell breaks loose. No doubt your are in good hands, and we all here on the “C” will be looking with you, for the root cause.
Sorry to hear this, Ron...but at least you'll know exactly the condition of your engine.....By the way, who is CMW? I have not heard of them before....do they have a website?
Dang Ron...sorry to hear this....I know you are disraught....and I agree that this is no way any fault of Techco based on your car's history with the former tuner.........I even feel bad about all my past pokes at you for blowing engines in the past...:erm:.........:naww:
Hey Ron - sorry to hear about the latest. Would it make you feel any better if I told the story about how they melted my motor on the engine dyno two weeks ago?
Thanks Larry. lol No worries on the poking fun. haha I think Mighty Noid (Albert) gives me the MOST shit. haha Albert continuously wants me to replace my 1bad4dr plate to Blown X4. haahahahaha It's all in good fun brotha Larry. No Matt that would NOT make me feel any better. You know how much I envy that Camaro... Crap man, that sucks.
Well the bad new is: Assembler didn't get intake properly sealed to cylinder heads, allowing air to leak in to the driver's side bank of cylinders, causing a HOLY $^%& lean condition on that bank. Tried to weld three pistons to the cylinder walls, ruining three pistons, messed with the cylinder walls, warped a the head, screwed up the valve seats, and ruined 6 valve springs. Fast forward........ Good news is: The 555ci engine is now a 565. New pistons yielding 14.8:1 compression instead of 13.0:1 with a new design for better flame travel. Replaced the springs. The rebuilt motor is already done, and I expect dynoing again this week. Hopefully somewhere between 900 and 1,000 HP naturally aspirated. So perhaps you'll have a similar end result. Rebuild it better, faster, stronger.
HOLY CRAP... lol And yes, Scott from CMW will take this opportunity to make adjustments where needed. Afterall, this was an R&D motor built nearly three years ago before any knowns were known. :bigwink:
:rofl:Bummer on the engine...but at least you haven't lost your sense of humor. I'm sure it won't be long, and you'll have your car back...
But Ron knows I give him shit out of great friendship!!!! and that would make a great plate... BLOWN X4
Ron, I thought you where kidding me when I first got your call this afternoon. So sorry to here this. I know how excited you where about getting your car back, getting the new wheels on, and having a great time at SpringFest with your new toys. My offer still is on the table for SpringFest to you and Maureen.
