First let me apologize to anyone thats asked me for these pics for the last I dont know how long...personal life has been a bitch lately...

Here are a few pics of where my meth nozzle is placed. Russ played with my tune a bit when they put the kit on and saw good gains with it. As compared to my previous kit the intake charge didnt drop in temp as much but they are overall lower. I run a solid 104 inlet temp now versus 140s before.

So would that go pretty much in the same place for the Vortech? I plan on doing like you with the before and after sensors.

nope on a vortech you spray with 2 nozzles, one before and one after i iat sensor and before the t-body. on a techco you use one nozzle and it is after the t-body.

Nice. My Jeep is over there at the moment and I am debating getting this done.

    Few questions.

Why did you decided to use the methanol? I know it lowers temps, but how often do you fill it up? Is it a hassle? Lastly if I do decided to get this what kit should I get?

I use the labonte kit and with a 50/50 mix I see lower temps, less detonation, and higher octane. The mix results in about 98-100 octane with 91 pump gas give or take. I used the windshield wiper bottle and it hold about 1.5 gallons and fill it once ever 4 weeks or so with avg driving. It is set to come on at 2psi and full in by 5. This means its only on when your boosting :)

i like to spray a little before so the iat sees it and puts a little timing back into the motor.

I guess most of the guys are running a non-methed tune...

You should not tune specifically for it! There are fail safes available to put on the kits if you really feel like you want to run a meth tune, but my reco...would be run it use it lower temps like it is designed and call it a day...I have never heard of an issue when doing this, and we have been running water/meth on cars that way for years.
Most good tuners recommend to never tune for meth.

You motor will be a lot happier runnign water meth long term than not running it, just don't go crazy with the tune.

There is an idiot light with the kit that can be setup to either show you when its on or not on. If your on your tune and set it to trigger and you dont see your light you know.

Paulie when I used the Vortech kit I had it the same as Ralph does now. One about 2 inches infront of the IAT(my smaller m2) then one about 2 inches after(m3) This dropped the reading on the IAT a good amount without soaking it and then the after was for extra that the computer didnt know about for safety. We bought T fittings and ran the second lines since the kit didnt come with it. Also labonte gets 20 bucks for just the nozzle and 20 bucks for the 2nd fitting kit(comes with some hose, a t-fitting, and a nozzle holder...but no nozzle) so assume 40 bucks if you buy it from them.

I saw more drop in temp with the vortech kit as the air had done all its heating before it got to the meth. With the techco kit its more for the detonation and octane because their charge is naturally cooler due to the style.

I only got my Meth for racing.....my thinking was to get a meth race tune.....gaining some HP with meth.....plug in the tune...turn on the meth and drag it

I don't use it for everyday driving safety

Should i still get another nozzle?

UP to you on the nozzle it will for sure help the tune if you chose to get one as it will spray on the iat. As far as just using it for racing...come on paulie you know your on that floor board all the time ;) Even without a tune for it just adjust the controller down and run a 50/50 mix and it will lower your temps and make it much safer for the part throttle issue that these kits have. :)

^ wait at what point is ur
Meth coming on at? Part throttle? I think mine cam on at 4 psi maybe a bit more. But it was only wot I think. I am trying to firgure out if I should keep my water meth kit for my kenne bell or if my huge custom heat exchanger will be big enough. I have a 4 gallon water cell that should keep my temps down pretty well with out getting to heat soaked

mine reads boost and doesnt matter what throttle position is...If your making x pounds of boost and its supposed to be on its on...as for if the exchanger will be enough...sure but why not have more right? higher octane and lower temps just means safer.
