I have the stock F1's on my car still, they are getting really bald. which i don't mind because i really only run them on the dragstrip. my car hooks up really well off the line, i had a 1.96 60' time this week. when i ran a 12.90 my speed was @108. it seems like i should be pulling harder past the 60' mark.
Sorry I'm laggin on this thread bro ... but, SWEET TIME and mph!! That's more like it!! I'm glad it all worked out good for ya man, I know you were a little worried. Hey, a 12.9 from 107 mph is pretty dang good bro, pretty dang good. I bet if you can get your 60' a little better and get that CMR tune done (hi flows wouldn't hurt either) I bet you'll be in the mid 12s easy, maybe better. What I want to see is that mph up around 112 or more!!
I think i'm going to do the hi flows, trying to get some info on them and an underpully. PPP is having an open house on the 17th, so i'm going to get a custom tune i hope, i wish i would have bought my predator from them. could have got a custom tune if i did, doubt its a dyno tune though. i corrected my run.. 12.57@110 mph. does anyone even do that? or is it bs?
NO, def correct that timeslip bro, that's what evens out the playing field!! 12.5 is AWESOME!!!! Do the tune and the hi flows but if your sled is your daily driver I'd pass on the underdrive pulleys. Did those on my Mustang and yea, it freed up hp and you could readily tell but ... things don't work the same for everyday use. Bat, Alt, A/C, they're all affected. I'd personally pass on pulleys.
I had underdrive pulleys on one of my Mustangs(many, many, many, many years ago) and I kept going through alternators... about every 6 months I'd lose it. Personally I don't think underdrive pulleys are worth it, especially for a few HP.
X2! Now they may be dif for our SRTs then they were for my Mustang but the idea is the same ... slow down your accessories with larger pulleys so the motor doesn't waste hp running them. What happens is your accessories get all messed up. I just have a problem with what they call accessories ... battery, alternator, air conditioner ... those are more necessaties to me! I won't do them again on anything remotely driven on the street.
thanks for the advice fellas! guess i won't go that route. if i do that at the track i'll go old school and yank the belt! i'm dying to see what the gain would be. i found some websites that help find the DA, it even goes back awhile for the conditions by date and time.
