Yes I know last minute, blah, blah, blah. This is the first year that I have used my own personal vehicle for work. I am not self employed but I do use the Jeep for work and log my business miles vs. my personal mile. I thought doing my taxes would be easy but I feel as if I am missing out on some big deductions. I pay for my own gas as well. So what forms do you guys suggest I use for making deductions for the Jeep I can use the over 61000 GVW write off and/or gas mileage and/or taxes paid when buying it last year. I'm lost and time is ticking:tip:

Well this becomes a very touchy subject. Full and complete documention is required. There are two ways you can try and deduct your expenses. One is based upon miles and I don't know what the new amount is, but it was $.38 a mile, I know it's changed. The other is actual cost. Fuel, repairs....etc. Just be aware that if you receive and audit...you must be able to prove your deduction.

You got to be using a tax program right? I used to do mine by hand a long time ago but have been doing TurboTax Premier for years now.

File the extension (1 very small form). You still got to send money if you think you owe (or pay penalties later). Then you can procrastinate until October!

Wow! IRS must be way behind! LOL! I thought it's 3 years limit for audit.

Any idea why you were audited? Random?

They thought the $132,462.78 medical expenses over the last 4 years, entirely for Valium, was questionable... until they saw the receipts! :drugs::rofl:
