The biggest overrated team of the whole year no doubt were the Cowboys. They need to get rid of Jason Garrett.

AZ needs to find a way to keep Anquan Boldin, he's just as good as Larry Fitzgerald. If he leaves, I see him in Dallas with TO getting kicked out.

    A bigger man walks away.
"Defensive Player Of The Year" DEFINITELY walks away.

youre acting as if this guy is a poster boy or ever going to be, for the nfl. hes just a mean, fast, badass aka "thug" who can see a play before it develops. its not like he is going to be an ambassador to the sport in any context.

defensive players are a whole diff breed than offensive. i was crazy when i played, but there were guys i played with that seriously wanted to kill people. guys that would go out on the field and actually believe that the player or team they were against raped or did something horrible to their loved ones.

of course i will give you that there are sane ones out there. but for the most part, defensive guys are absolutely nuts.

for him to push him down and then punch him was uncalled for, but at the same time, what do you expect? a nice tap on the ass?

So you're saying when Josh Beckett beans A-Rod on purpose, A-Rod should not charge the field or a Yankee pitcher should not intentionally bean David Ortiz?

In all of this you guys are not saying shit about the dirty Cardinals player.....a chop block is way worse than a punch...just go ask some of the players' who've had to have surgery or had their career ended.

If there was an illegal block coming from Francisco, then I expect him to be fined/benched/tossed as well.
Harrison had the DPOY honor well before the game. It was up to him to whether he wanted to be cheered or sneered.

If someone is insane, regardless of profession, they should not be out amongst the public.
You don't pay them eleventy million dollars and put them on TV.
    You get them professional help.

"Poster boy for the NFL". HA HA HA HA! Talk about a short list. Good luck with that.

    I think we're done.

Got to agree with you on that Kevan.

Imagine back in the day if you tried to chop block Jack Lambert! He would have taken your own helmut and beat you to death with it.

And I agree Steve defensive players are a different breed of athlete, there outrite ANIMALS and thats why I love defense.

Like I said until you have had someone go for your knees and potentially end your career you wont know how you will react, I mean I do and have reacted. 3 game suspension but the lil prick never tried chop blocking me again :)

Any one remember the OLD Oakland Raiders? Talk about animals. Society has gotten so touchy feely its pathetic, maybe we should hand out second place trophys too and a nice player of the game award.

    Im done.

Great game coming from someone who didn't really care who won, I really loved it. It's why I love football so much, just when you think you've seen it all you have a game like that ... 100 yard int return for a td with 0 time on the clock to end the first half, 2 scoring change tds in the last couple minutes of the game, each team playing all out, what a great game.

Only thing that sucked was (as usual) the refereeing, someone needs to tell those bozos to let the players decide the game, it's the biggest game of the year, LET THEM PLAY for crying out loud. <whistle> "Penalty on Cheatek, unsportsman-like comment, 15 yards and BANNED!" lol

I can't remember if it's here or at my brother's house, but one of us has the "They Call Me Assassin" series of books.

see...thats what pisses me off about the NFL in general....

if you so much as LOOK at a kicker in an unpleasant way its like a 45 yard penalty....if your on the same field as the QB you might as well give the other team 7 points....

not for anything...but if your all gonna be pussies then take off the pads and just play 2 hand touch....

I feel like when i played football in HIGH SCHOOL we were tougher than half these guys....

Nah Stevo, they're just trying to protect the guys in dangerous situations (QBs and kickers) and the one thing with the NFL is they continue to change rules to make the game better, unlike frickin baseball which is a joke.

there is a difference between protecting someone....and calling a 15 yard penalty when someone bumps into them

if you even look at a kicker they go flying back and fall (mostly acting) and always get the call.....

im not saying you should be allowed to tear their heads off....but if someone hits them because they have already committed to the tackle after they have released the ball...that should not be a penalty....

I agree with you guys on the penalty thing.
Having your shirt sleeve brush Tom Brady's shoulder after he's released the ball is not "Roughing the Quarterback".
Conversely, if on that same play Tom Brady flops down on the ground and rolls to the opposite end of the field like he just fell off the north face of Everest, that's fully bullshit.

In the NHL, they have a penalty for diving/embellishment. It falls under "Unsportsmanlike Conduct", and it's 2 minutes in the sin bin.
LOTS of calls for it the first year it was in place. It's been declining (heavily) every year since.

    It's a sport.
    Not Blue Man Group.
