Hello Gents, I recently purchased a 9†stubby antenna from www.autoaccesory4u.com and the package came with some various threaded standoffs of different length, none of which fit the SRT8. Has anyone had any luck in getting these to fit by buying a new standoff elsewhere? Cell
At least you got your antenna. I ordered mine over 3 weeks ago and in checking with them last week they said it would be here 4 days ago. Not. Got a feeling that if it ever shows up it won't have the right fittings either. Some discussion on this and a possible fix with 1/4" -20 all thread and a tap was discussed on the Cherokeesrt site a while back. Others mentioned they also had long delivery times so I will give them until after Christmas before I . Keep us advised if you have any luck getting them to send the right part.
I got mine from them in about 2 weeks, but they didn't send the right adaptor. I emailed them and requested the correct one and after a week and no answer I taped the antenna and stuck it on there. Sure enough within hours, they emailed me back saying they would send the right one. So I might have the correct adaptor if they do send it.
I got the same thing. Go to a local hardware store, have them tap out the antenna to the same size as the factory antenna screw and buy an adapter that will work. I did the same thing with mine, cost me $0.40 for the adapter and that was it!
Sucks about the service at that company. I got my stubby from stylin concepts fast and with the right adapter. Not sure if the adapter is different for you guys. But that is where I bought mine from.
Make your own I have done it four times already (1st gen neon, Srt-4 Durango aand my Ram 1500) it takes about 10 min. if you have a bench grinder and just a little longer using a file. Remove the antenna from the car. put the antenna in a vice protected by vice pads or just an old rag. With vice grips pull off the ball end. Cut antenna to what ever length you like then grind or file the tip to where you can press or push the ball back on for a snug fit. you only neet to file the very end of the cut you just made. If you make too small by filing too much. Just trim it off and try again lol Good luck Ray
Just send an email to Kim at ALLSALES MFG INC [[email protected]] they are the manufacturer and she'll mail you the adapter. I emailed her when I ordered the stubbie from accessories4u and received the adapter from her well before I even got the antenna.
Yup. That vendor sucks. It's where I got mine from. Shipping took several days longer than it should have, but also got the wrong adapters. Went to Home Depot, got some 1/4"-20 all thread. Had the antenna tapped out, got some loc-tite. Done. Chase
