I gotta say guys I agree with you all, it's sad and I hope they're all right but ... BUT ... how stupid do you have to be to race fast cars on a small street like that?!?! I mean, come on, where's the common sense?!?! We've ALL been in that situation ... too much traffic, not a good road ... do we run the idiot egging us on next to us or not? Not. I don't like the "what if" game but what if there were people, or kids, in those parked cars? Geez, where's the common sense in the world these days ...
Actually the street was a divided 4 lane major highway...and one of the few level and straight stretches around here.....I dont know what caused him to lose it..........traffic at that time of day was probably light/medium....
Stone Dr. is a divided 4 lane major hwy? Ok then, didn't sound like it in the story. 130+ mph is still waaaaaaaaaaaaaay fast, if he was ejected from the car anywhere near that speed I don't see how he could survive. Even with a helmet that's just too fast to hit the ground, another car, a tree, whatever, and survive. Wow.
Larry, Have tou seen or heard any new developments? I haven't caught anything on the news. I'd seen the Mustang (or one like it) going past my house (Memorial Blvd. near Carolina Pottery). Kinda ironic that the Viper vs. Mustang drag race / crash / murder was just back in the local news. I used to be as stupid as the rest as a kid... I'm just glad I never got anyone hurt, & pray that I can resist the urge in the future.
Stories like this come up on a weekly basis. No matter how safe you think you are street racing your not. Its definately sad to hear.
Locally it is Stone Dr but actually it is HWY 11W.........havent heard anymore on his condition...he took out 9 vehicles in one of my client's parking lot...one SUV was on it's side...
