HELLO whatever makes you look good it what you go with dont you know. Your right though so does that mean my 12.58 that corrected to a 12.46 is something I should have posted???? LOL
The two posts needing to be moderated is part of our antispam software. I have approved the two posts. I also reopened this thread until whomever closed it comes forward and explains to me the WHY's.
hahahaha, I think it was -2000? Not really sure, I never really pay attention to the DA. I'll tell you though....it was VERY cold that day, BUT....A timeslip is a timeslip
Oh I agree, a timeslip is a timeslip and twice in my original post I have congratulated you. Make sure you add you time to our timeslip database found in the members rides link...
Thanks....I need to lurk around on this site more....seems to be a very wide range of good topics here.
Keoni this site by far has more "PERFORMANCE" oriented threads than any other SRT site the wealth of knowledge on here is great. I really want to get the Jeep section back to life it has been dead for a while so why dont you start a thread on your mods and what got you to an 11.9 on your 6.1, vids, etc.
Not So! Keoni.......with all due respect.....but Fact is you have a stock 6.1 short block.....so what? Facts are you have the IDENTICAL modification set up to mine, you even have larger valves and a much more aggressive cam. You have a complete PPP heads, cam, Kooks headers, BWoody cai, Borla cat back, tune, etc etc. The difference is now 50 cubic inches and my HEAVY rotating assembly in my shortblock. Now that this is out of the way......fact is you dont have a stock 6.1! Your rotating assembly is factory....ok. Its nice to have a slip.......but the bottom line is you will never run that again unless you have the same atmospheric conditions. You have a N/A 12.4-12.5@104 Jeep...... end of story. By no means is it a slouch, it runs strong. The tell tale sign of power is your mph and there is SIGNIFICANT difference between the tale of the tapes. It is nice to run in 3 bar atmosphere :cold:, however you will only catch track days like those few and far between.......and that is fact. Like I said in another thread go to...... http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density...77&mph=115.53&correctetmph=Correct+ET+and+MPH and now you will see a comparison of what seal level does to your times and say mine......if you want a comparison. The question was asked if a STOCK Jeep could run in the 11's...answer is.....NO a stock Jeep can not run in the 11's.. .
Wow sounds like alot of pissing and moaning going on here.... Stanko, with all due respect. Its run what you brung and hope you brung enough. This is the reason street racing is a joke today. Mustangs and Ricers, wanna race from a roll. Hey so what if I have AWD, Im also 1000#s heavier and a brick. Mustang makes .85HP/lb vs my .74HP/lb You wanna race we race like they do at the track or in the movies. So what if Keoni(sp) ran in great air. Several years ago when I was at the NHRA finals and the real "Sarge" set the record and won the championship from Doug Kalitta, nobody gave a crap that there was good air. He still won the Top Fuel championship. 3 years before that at Maple Grove, I believe over 20 records were shattered and it was because of a incredible front that came thru. If NHRA doesnt set astricks next to records, why should you try and do it ???? As for your forged rotating assembly vs stock cast, I think you would agree with me when I say a balanced and blueprinted engine will way overcome the added weight of your combo. Now to give my 2 cents in this keyboard jockey contest, I think it can be done. Ive said this on the red site and I will say it here, the tuning is what is keeping us from running faster. Wade has run a mid 12 without even touching his stock longblock, Patrick G has run a very low 12 with a cam and some bolt ons. Once somebody unlocks and figures out how to tune these things, records are gonna drop fast and 10 sec Jeeps will be all over these boards. If you look at any form of street racing and compare the numbers to what they were 10 years ago, you will see what I mean. Examples are 1998 Cambird, 1998 Mustang, 1998 Vette, basically same combos they are just multiple seconds faster. All because of tuning options !! Congrats to both you and Keoni, you represent well but to see vendors knock each other and then watch members do the same is childish. Sarge... Can a stock Jeep SRT8 run 11's? HELL NO! No way possible My best has been a 12.3 in moderate heat and 12.5 in 100 degree heat You have over me....426, Intake Manifold, 90mm Throttle Body, & Converter (rite?)
You are right. Again, sincerely, congratulations on you strong running build. I have nothing but utmost respect for PPP and especially Andy who has spents hours with me "kicking the can" and comparing notes. I am just envious you guys have the best tracks!! .
Steve- Im not going to pick your thread apart as you did mine but I will address a few things you got wrong by quoting my previous post. 1) There was no backhanded congrats, it was true and sincere. Ive spoken to you on the phone and I have traded PMs, I think I know what your after and I do know determination you have to get there. 2) Steve- Im not going to debate you about a "stock" Jeep running 11s because I guess perhaps I missed the definition of stock(Thats where my sarcastic signature comes in) many people have different definitions as to what stock might be. Kinda like in Texas, the State constitution says you can carry a gun with you in a vehicle when you travel but travel isnt defined in the constitution <---- Another joke so you see Im not being a asshole, I just have a difference of opinion. Now as to what I think and I believe and why I feel that way, lets no debate it but agree to disagree. First, its important to define what I feel is stock. Stock to me would mean nothing below the intake be removed and you run the parts that came on the dealer as it came off the lot. I dont think a massaged intake would be breaking the term stock. I think in time when tuning is more readily understood, a stock Jeep can run low 11s. Im not going to define what conditions, how many different people will do it, or if its done once in mineshaft air :miner:, whats done is done. In my book taking a penny or taking $100,000, both stealing. My reason of thinking- Follow me here, Im going to start to sound like our buddy GotStroke(Mods and admin please dont ban, is that a cussword ?) In 1997 vehicles I raced with were barely running 9s, these were in no way stock but Im getting to a point here. Then sometime around 1999 when Speedpro now FAST came out we all of a sudden starting running 8s with nothing more than the ability to tune for optimal performance. By the time 2001 rolled around those same vehicles were running 7s with almost the same combos but more understanding of software and ability to tune. Now we will take the simple Ford Mustang 4.6 DOHC, in 2000 with a fully gutted car and a Vortech STrim few would run low 11s without the use of N20. That same combo exact combo with todays tuning options and understanding can run a low 10, nothing different except that now we have Diablo and SCT instead of just a piggyback autologic or delta chip on the stock ECU. The same can be said for the LS1, with tuning your saw these guys advance MPH and chop away ETs. Now the Jeep is the first Mopar Ive owned and I think Im correct in saying that these 6.1s are in the infancy stage, 2 years ago I think besides Claude a low 13 was rocking. I would enjoy reading and listening to what you know and why you disagree with me, but Im not looking to get into a my pecker is bigger than yours contest. Last thing in regards to cast vs forged, a balanced and blue printed engine will rev and be much snappier than a stock cast engine. The tighter specs will allow that over a reg assembly with just a balancer and flywheel keeping the crap together. Still the fastest 2007 pinching a loaf :thanks:
