SF Stats – January 2011 In just one month we’ve had 537 register from all over the hemisphere just about. That’s an average of 17 a day and some change. We’re within 125 of last year’s final registration total in just the first month with 54 days left until the big event. We just need another 463 to make 1000! Remember Registration for the event itself is FREE and includes lunch for FREE. Ralph Gilles will be there, Sam Hubinette will be there, I understand like the past couple of years or so, many top guys/gals from Chrysler will be there. We already know John is waiting to unveil FATCHANCE 2.0 and knowing John there will be many more surprises. The hotel of choice is the DoubleTree – Irvine Spectrum who is giving us a discount rate of $97/night. The whole parking lot and the whole hotel will be filled with SF attendees. There’s the annual pre-SF Beach Burger M&G on Thursday night in Huntington Beach, the USW luncheon (RSVP required) on Friday, oh and the SHOW itself on Saturday at what used to be El Toro (a marine corp air field/base/strip thing). In between those events, you’ll be surrounded by literally hundreds of your fellow enthusiasts from all over the country, even from Canada, Germany and Sweden, from all walks of life, all just as into their cars as you. It hasn’t been posted yet, but I am SURE the vendor list will be long. That’s the event. As a bonus (at least for me), you get an excuse to drive or at least travel to Southern California in late March, when the rest of the country is just thawing out from a harsh winter. You get to meet lots of people you only read about or chatted with on LXforums IN PERSON! If you want to know who, check out the pages long list over at http://www.socallx.com/SpringFestival/2011SFStatistics.aspx. Unless something drastically changes, I can promise there will be NO snow and NO ice! There are currently FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN cars/owners already REGISTERED after just over a MONTH of registration. You have FIFTY-ONE days until the event which means even LESS time to register, book a room, plan a trip, schedule time off, make any modifications you wanted to show off, find a caravan, etc. Who's going to be there? Well, so far Ralph Gilles (the guy responsible for our amazing rides existing in the first place), Samuel Hubinette (the drift car GOD - if you don't know, GOOGLE him), plus I'm sure a long list of vendors with stuff to show you and exclusive SpringFest deals, plus oh yeah, 21 different LXforums LX of the Month winners, plus HUNDREDS, yes HUNDREDS of your fellow lxforum members and LX enthusiasts/fanatics with their cars modified or unmodified to show off and talk about. We've already over half-way to the target of 1000. If everyone who is registered talked just one other person into going (I think I've already convinced at least half-a-dozen), that's well over 1000. Have questions? ASK! We're trying to make this as easy as possible so you have no excuse not to sign up and come check it all out.
