Let me get my new ones in and I'll sell you my 2315's half price when i take them out...only a little over 1000 miles on them. I hear ya E...sometimes i cant see the forest because of the trees...but that's why i keep asshole friends, they can always point out my short comings. Have you ever done a read? What coppers you running?(brand and part number) What HR 6 plugs are you planning to use? (brand and part number)
just a cheapo set of NGK copper since I am broke. No read but it still has stock plugs so they need to go.
I did that, and it didn't change...maybe something wrong with my tuner because the speedo correction doesn't change either...or i just did it wrong, i'll try again and see what happens. But...Base spark is 23-25, shouldn't i get that, or near it?
Throughout the entire run. Constant. Varies from 4 at first hit, up to 8 degrees KR at shift, and holds 8 through the gear.
Is anything rubbing? Is there any noise in the motor? Did you put the inspection cover back on the transmission with the little foam piece on it?
I don't think anything is rubbing...stock shorties to Kooks catless mids, stock cat back exhaust, more rigid mounts so less engine movement. Motor is quiet running, I can hear the injectors clicking at idle, runs smooth, pulls 17" of vac at idle. Sounds like a forged motor should. Transmission inspection plate with black foam pad is in place and held there securely with a 10mm bolt. The only chatter I have is from the rear KW V2 lower bushings...new bushings should be here any day...I don't think this is my problem though, I only hear it when going over bumps.
Mostly Shell, also ExxonMobil....I have also used NOS Racing formula octane booster to a half tank, double the amount the instructions say...same result. I guess next thing is send injectors to be flowed, cleaned and calibrated. I've ruled everything else out. I'm thinking I have at least 2 bad injectors, one on each side...I've watched knock sensor voltage for both banks and the voltage is pretty equal
That octane booster is useless.....makes it go from 93 octane to 93.2 octane.Try running Sunoco 93 or stick with the Mobil. The Shell could be crappy....if you need to run an octane booster get the Torco fuel additive. That will actually raise 93 oct to 104......if you still have the same knock it's not coming from the cylinders.
I could get 5 gallons of Sunoco 105, gotta run a tank of the Shell out first. I prefer to use the ExxonMobil fuel, but I have 3 Shell stations within 2 miles of work and home. Where can I get the Torco additive? What's puzzling, is I had the exact same KR with the old build...injectors being the same on both. And why would you be able to run 27 degrees @ 11:1, and I can only get about 18 outta mine?
Torco can be had at Jegs.Do you have the pilot bushing in the crank for the converter?I know it's a little late to ask.
