This never happens to me, but tonight a couple young guys pull up to me in a modified 2002 SS Camaro and started with the down shifting routine...you know the one! So I slow down to play their game, so we slow down to about 25mph and they take off and within 2 seconds I blow past him with little effort. He catches me at the next stop light and ask "if my car was the SRT version". Of course I say, "yeah...I know its tough to tell if its the fast one or not". They smiled and comment on how fast it was and moved on. Not that I condone street racing, but sometime you gotta put em in their place! Thought I would share. Right at 6000 miles on the SRT6 and my first "Kill"!
I know. I expected him to hang a little bit. He had exhaust on it, and still had shoe polish on the back window from the track. I have owned a couple F-body's, both a LT-1 and LS-1. The SRT6 is way faster. I had to put a 125 shot of NOS on the LT-1 to even get in the 12's. I am guessing the SRT6 will do a 12.9. I will find out next Friday. I am going to make the to the track to get a baseline before I install the new pulley and ecu tune!
I don't like to/nor approve of your typical fast-and-furious-esque street race but a quick smackdown to some shit-talking ignorant fool is alright and I've noticed tends to curb their desire to do it again. I'll only do that kinda shit when provoked. Good kill!
I get 12.9 due to another member on the Crossfire formum that has a stock SRT6 with the same intake I have but without removing the resonator. He went to the exact track as I am going a few weeks ago and did a best run of the night was 13.082 @ 107.75 mph with the 1.999 60 ft. I feel I can beat the 60 ft time as he was inexperienced at the track and was questioning how to launch the Crossfire. I know how to launch the car.....
12.84 @108 with just K&N filters. Thats what mine ran, now it runs [email protected] with ecu tune and cold air kit. These cars are faster than people think.
I just got a quote from Eric and LET for Pulley, Tune, plugs, pump, spacers, and HE. They are just a couple hours from me and will install them all in one Saturday. I should have this all done in the next few weeks!!! :bottom:
