Since there is snow on the ground and I have cabin fever... What do you think guys, is 430rw SAE (DJ in fourth gear) naturally aspirated possible with a stock longblock 6.1? Realizing that Jeeps always dyno lower than LXs, I think it is--possibly attainable by a Jeep. Why? Consider the following: I made 401/400rw SAE in my '06 Jeep with the following mods (shameless plug: Yes, I am a vendor :flowers BWoody CAI BWoody Coated/Ported Intake Manifold Stainless Works 1 7/8" catted Longtube Headers Stainless Works 3" catback 176F T-stat B&G/Diablo CMR Tune Later this or early next week I'm going to redyno, testing my ported stock TB, catless/off-road mid pipes, and a revised CMR tune on the dyno from my usual tuner Don LaSota. Shooting for 420rw SAE. I think we'll hit 415rw minumum meaning that with a full set of UD pulleys (possibly a 90mm TB) 430rw should be attainable. All the more impressive when you figure that's through an automatic trans, and heavy ass 20" wheels and runflats. What do you think, possible or impossible? Also it seems like a CAI/tune alone will put most LX SRT8s close to 390rw+. I wonder what the LXs will eventually top out at... A side note...No LS2 can touch those numbers, in fact, I can't even find one that's made 400rw through an auto (or manual) N/A with stock longblock. I'm not sure what full bolt-on LS3s are putting out (granted they are paired with a much more efficient driveline as well) but I have to give props to DCX for giving us a very decent platform to start with. :beerchug:
Also, before someone jumps in my shit, this isn't ricer math because the additional mods in question (UD pulleys, revised custom (dyno vs. email) tune, and removing the cats) always make power. LOL. Someone also needs to call Meziere to have them make an electric water pump for us. Should net another 3-5hp maybe more.
I am going to get flamed like mad but I think that if you get 430 on a stock longblock you better get someone to check the calibration of the dyno.......I have a hard time believing some of the 395 stock claims.
This dyno has been around for about two years (had a Mustang Dyno previously) and has put out numbers directly on par with other Dyno Jets around the country. Rob/Don LaSota travel around teaching people how to tune with SCT/Diablo software (Don authored the user manuals for both SCT/Diablo) and can personally attest to this as well. For instance a full bolt on M6 LS2 C6 Vette (CAI, tune, longtubes, catback) made 395rw SAE in fourth gear on the same dyno. A 96 Cobra with O/R pipe and CAI made 272rw SAE. There are plenty of 390rw+ CAI/tune LXs, too many to argue that it's dyno related I believe.
