I think the hot air from the engine is going to affect the performance, have you considered scoop to force cold air into the intake..I can send you some cold air if you like.

Maybe a plastic tube would be better?

Oh and I know a few guys that can help you test it, just send it to them for free!.

Although I'm wondering, where did you place the fans when dynoing the CAI? That could have had a big effect.
