It's the Star Spangled Banner. John Edwards doesn't have his hand over his heart either off to the right. None of them are facing the flag. It's like watching a baseball game.
I was assuming maybe Obama was waiting for a different flag to salute. Another shock..Hillary does have a heart, or at least she knows where to place her hand lol!

Ok I guess this happened back in NOV..I just saw it posted up somewhere today...I just missed it back then...here is his response... I agree. Looks like only the last 2 are looking at the flag, and maybe both have their hands on their hearts too.
i was always taught by my father and my fathers, father...... both military...... when the national anthem plays, you remove hat, hand over heart, and face the flag..... PERIOD!!!!!
I worry about Obahma, if he goes to a hurricane state looks like the SS wil have to hold him down physically, it would be horrible to have a president litterally get blown away by a strong gust of wind,
I read that the actual Old Glory for the ceremony was off to the right of the bandstand where they were standing. In that case, Barack was correct to be facing that flag, the flag behind them is just a banner. Military members are supposed to either salute or put hand over heart depending on if they're in uniform or not. Hopefully, the winner will get the salute/flag briefing, hehehe...
