So a guy in San Diego/Tecate, CA scammed me for $3,000...can u guys HELP ME OUT???

So anyways i'm being scammed.....my friend bought a badass P71 police interceptor from a guy in SoCal

Seeing as my friend just bought one i trusted this guy to build me a P71....

So I was to send him half the total payment of $6,000 for a 2004 P71 crown vic......$3,000 over the course of a few months

The day after i sent him the bank check for the third $1,000 he COMPLETELY disappeared

No response to emails, voicemails, myspace(which he deleted last night!), or anything....for the last few months he has been AWESOME with communicating and keeping me updated....i guess that's how good scammers are

I was able to find some people he know off of his page before he deleted it like his sister who is trying to help me.

So basically i'm not depressed or pissed....i just want this resolved and want my $3,000 back

So one of the things i am good at is finding stuff on the net

So the hunt began...

So next i began looking into his background for jobs, location etc.....

His myspace pic has him and some friend of some national public safety...so i call them and lookie here...he USED to work there...ok so i gave them a little story of whats going on and they are gonna get me more info...he is also into some sort of corrections or security

I then talked to my local friend who bought the P71 and he has ALL the service records with receipts and everything so i'll get a little info there...and the guys drivers license copy

So my lucky break....i remembered he called me while i was at the drag strip a few months ago...from a hospital

Got on verizon and looked up the number....found the hospital via googling the number from june....

Called them, asked for security, and asked for him.......sure enough "oh he's not working right now"..........BINGO!!!

Then turns out my friend already knew he works at a hospital from 11-7am and he's a security guard

I called later on yesterday night and they said he was there but couldn't talk....i could hear him in the background asking "whats their name"...he KNOWS it's me because i have been sending him emails with warnings

Well ain't that a bitch....a 30 year old with a wife, kids, a job.....willing to put everything on the line to scam an honest person for a mere $3,000....it blows my mind

Ya know it's really disappointing seeing how happy my friend is with his nice P71 and knowing my was supposedly a week from being delivered to me

I'm planning on making a trip down there but i need to find some time off between school and work....

What a god damn shame

So can somebody in SD help me contact this mother fucker?

Let me know guys...what this guy REALLY deserves is to get fucked up but that really doesnt solve anything....

It's a hard lesseon learned but fortunately this guy has all his info out there for me to go after...so i've been contacting mediation/arbitration services, attorneys, hell i hate doing it but i may just have to go small claims court but i'd rather take it farther than that

On the phone with SD city PD now then off to my local sheriff later.....SD gave me the financial crimes unit number to call on Monday...i'm also on the calling list for a few SD attorneys

This SOB is SCARED!!! Already talked to a co worker that told me the GUY specifically told him not to tell me anything about him....WTF LOL

And i'm going to call his Supervisor first thing Monday morning

I haven't sent any threat emails....just warnings that i may take legal action and i take farther steps to get my money back

Make sure anything you send him in writing is certified mail... that way he can't claim he didn't receive it.

 

If anyone (including you) pays him a visit, use caution. He's a rent-a-cop. And the fact that he builds CVPIs means he probably wanted to be a real cop, but couldnt cut it, so he drowns himself in real cop toys. Guys like that are into the mall ninja tacticool cop shit, ie probably has a few firearms at his place. Find out if the hospital security guards are armed (I seriously doubt it, as 99% are NOT). Try to encounter him at his place of business. He won't feel that he has the upper hand like he would if you were standing on HIS porch.

From a law enforcement and legal perspective: now that the pd is inolved, you should not contact him in person. Something goes wrong, someone gets hurt, someone records the conversation and you say something, or whatever, and any good lawyer is gonna grill you as to why you called the cops and then decided to continue to contact him in person. Be persistent and professional now that it is getting into a kind of court state of affairs.

Practically: you're considering confronting a now known felon (or soon to be one) who's threat level is an unknown; you may not be trained to handle such a situation and you have no immediate backup. Is this guy 'desperate', is he armed? Basically, given the crime committed, there's no reason for you to confront him in person. God forbid you end up the victim again. Not worth it.
Stay home and call off the posse! Lol

Develop a relationship with the pd and they'll get it done depending on where a $3000 theft is on their priority list.

I suggest contacting an attorney and follow their advice to the 't'.

Thanks for the advice....i know he's not a scam artist and prob has som hard times...BUT i found out he had been giving me false information since day ONE. He used his last name to describe a guy who owns a lot of police cars...so his intentions where there from the start

I don't plan to confront him....never did. I planned to contact the PD and an attorney or a PI but looks like a PI is going to be all that i need

The PI said he's going to review everything i sent him and go straight to the guys supervisor at work. He's going to tell him whats going on and force the guy to pay him $3150($150 for his service) or else he's going right to the PD. He said that having something to this offense on his record will prevent him from keeping his security license snd he wil never be able to get any public service or job of that sort ever again.

I'm really glad the PI called me this morning and was soo willing to help me. Guy sounds like a badass too!

For a mere $150 that's definitely worth what he is going to do for me. I 100% plan on paying him more just for helping me out once he gets the job done.

Honestly i'd rather an aggressive PI or attorney go after this guy than the PD....they can take FOREVER! It's the others who are excited to do stuff like this and the PD have bigger fish to fry

We will see what happens Tuesday when the PI goes to the Security Supervisor.....should be GOOD!

Letting the investigator do his work....he's going to do small claims first and subpoena the guy's boss to stir things up at the job since the boss is too much of a pussy to help

I also found out which bank he has so finding his assets will be easy
