She's out surgery and prognosis is good

Just the 2 that were damaged.If I had more replacements I would have checked more.But since we only had 2 extra pistons and Dave needs his car as a DD I did what i could.

 

is #1 typically the piston that goes bad?

 

typicaly yes.On Daves car #5 let go first and was diagnosed by Dave,Borescope showed damage to the piston.....#1 was a complete surprise,sure glad he had 2 pistons.

 

but you were able to assume that 2 pistons were fucked after inspecting the plugs right?

 

nope.....only #5 plugs were messed up.Probably happened after the ring itself broke off.Plugs on #1 were perfect.Didn't have a clue till the head came off.

 

then Dave caught a huge break with getting 2 pistons AND no head damage .. wow

 

Huge break in many ways.. That point about no head damage plus having friends around like Erik and Chad.. :worthy: :thanks:
