She's Broken :o(

I do not know what happened but the SRT is broken.. I was coming up the hill to my condo and proceeded over the monster speed bumps that we have here, I was going over the last monster sideways and the left rear tire dropped onto the steel grate for the storm drain(which I have done hundreds of times) well this time I heard a dreaded loud CLUNK.. The car will not move. It's like the driveline is disconnected from the car. I put the car in Park and the tranny grinded to a halt. Tow guy thinks I broke the tranny..But how can you break a tranny going over a speedbump sideways?? I guess the 5 star will let me know sometime tomorrow(hopefully they don't feed me any lines of **** either). I am so bummed out my baby is spending the night at the 5 star in the cold, but she has another SRT8 to keep her company a brand new SRT8 300.

Wow, that's sad. I feel your pain.

Were you just sort of creeping over the bumps at an angle or were you sideways because you were sliding?

Yep, sounds like a broken half-shaft or spline in the rear.... It's binding (obviously). I hear the tranny in the SRT-8's are pretty stout..... I got stranded in PA once for that shit.... :domotwak:

I feel for ya bro, been having some hard luck myself so you have my total sympathy. :crying:

 

BROKEN RIGHT REAR AXLE....It's covered, but it is on backorder, so who knows when it will be here.... And they fudged my rear bumper up using the power pusher.. Creased the bumper cover and license plate....Fuckin idiots....

 

Does that mean I win a jackpot

Man that sucks How long are they back ordered? Maybe get some aftermarket ones if moneys allows

At least it's covered!!!! Being back ordered is kinda crazy tho. Must be because of the discontinuation of the Maggy? Wierd!

 

THAT is just so unbelievable! Just beyond comprehension. It's a friggin DEALER! Have they seen one of these before? Do they push the new cars into the showroom with that thing? Was it the guy's first day on the job after getting fired down at the railroad freight yards? WTF? Take a hammer to a side window in the showroom. "Oh, I thought it was a push in window and you were supposed to rap on it with something". I'm sure they'll understand and you'll feel better:cry:

 

Hopefully they'll prove a 5 star status (I think most dealers must get the wall plaque after buying head office suits a few martinis).
