SCLX had there monthly meet and greet at a BBQ rest. near Austin, called The Salt Lick. The Austin LX club (C2M2) and San Antonio LX club (Alamo City LX) also joined up with us for the fun. Couldn't have asked for a better day, weather wise, for a road trip and down right delicious BBQ. It was a rare September day in that the humidity was so low, for this time of the year, in Texas.

I took some pics of the SCLX road trip and meeting up with C2M2 Austin LX club, along the way and then we all road together to the salt lick.

More pics that another SCLX member took.

We had some super weather today – all the sun we needed for that perfect cruise for some serious BBQ at the Salt Lick.

It was also great to have James Howard from Hennessey Performance Engineering in attendance. He is available for all your LX performance needs.

Great pics Mark. Glad it was a HUGE turn out. Saweeeet.

Ya know, the Maggy with the 24's is fricken HOT. I am not a fan of the 24's, but that guy pulled it off. Awesome job he did.

When is FreeBee gonna be back on the road?

The Salt Lick (Driftwood) is my favorite BBQ place on Earth. The food, drive, and atmosphere are incredible there. I wish I could take some of my Cali buddy's there and show them what the REAL BBQ "experience" is about.

I haven't been to the salt lick in years. It was great to go back. They do have some very tasty BBQ. But my personal favorite BBQ rest., in Texas, is the Luling City Market BBQ, in Luling Texas. Luling has the best BBQ sauce in the world. I brought some to Fatchance and others when I drive out to Cali. each year, for Spring Festival. Now they call me all year long wanting me to send them more of that Luling BBQ sauce, lol.

    Glad to hear this Mark.

haha I remember you being dissatisfied with the sunroof. Now you will have her EXACTLY how you wanted (other than the 666 number). hehe

I agree with you on the 24" rim theory. It may be the long rear do to the wagon lines that allow for the bigger rims?

All I know is that that Wagon is a beauty.

Be well my friend. Tell Johnny and crew hello.

I agree with that the Salt Lick is not THE best food...it's really good...I just like the OVERALL experience there. But, I have been to other places...like "Kreutz's" in Lockhart that is better. I may have to head south down to Luling when visit my brother in Georgetown next week. I'll be driving to Texas next week and plan on getting fat on BBQ!!

I will agree with you that the Salt Lick is the nicest exp. of all the BBQ places. The grounds are beautiful, country charm, awesome roads you take getting there, etc. and the food ain't bad either.

I was going to mention Kreutz's in Lockhart as well. Lockhart is a little town and has 3 giant BBQ rest. within a block of each other and nothing else, lol. They are serious about there BBQ in Lockhart.

You owe it to yourself, since you have a love of BBQ, to make it to Luling for there BBQ as well. Let me know what you think, when you visit your brother. I am 6'4" and over 300lbs., I have been getting fat on Texas BBQ all my life, lol.

Very slowly and staying straight in the lane next to the seawall. Then angle onto the seawall with the front left tire and trying to get the rear left tire to roll up just after it and keeping the same angle bring the front right tire on the seawall then the rear right tire. Everyone in the club knows I have a super low front end and gave me the time and space to pull up on the seawall. Then once I was parked, they parked all around me.

Sometimes I am too low to park for a photo op. I was in New Orleans a few months back for a photoshoot and we took some pictures inside an old warehouse with a ramp that led up to a second floor. The ramp was too step to drive the Bee up, so they took pics of the Bee on the first floor.

There were some other LX's on hand for the Halo and HID photoshoot.

There was also a sport bike at the photoshoot.

This was the upstairs part of the old warehouse that my Bee could not get up on the ramp to.

There was also a Lambo at the shoot and both of our yellow cars looked great against this Blue walled metal building, outside.
