Was a slow weekend so I made it to the track both Friday and Saturday. I witnessed some interesting things but more on that later. My Jeep is a 07 with only a Bwoody CAI and Predator, my best 2 weeks ago was a 12.96@104 but that was Pre Predator. 2 weeks ago the air was perfect, 45 degrees, High Pressure, Breeze out of the North and no humidity.

    Friday Night

With Predator and 93CAI tune, I made 3 passes with a average of 13.33@103. I wasnt expecting numbers better than I ran prior but I did expect to be close since I had got the predator. The temps were in the 60s, high humidity and breeze coming from Coast(Terrible air).

I next dropped the 93CAI tune for the 91CAI tune and results were better but I was still disappointed. I made another 3 passes and achieved a average of [email protected]. As stated above I was happier with these times because the temps remained in the 60s but humidity was increaseing to where dew was forming on vehicles and after burnouts the smoke would barely rise.

    Saturday Night

After a few exchanged emails and phone calls to people we all thought my timing was low, dashhawk was showing a max of 18 degrees. I began by adding a little fuel and a little timing thru the curve 4(1-38)3(4-4.8) and 2(5000-7000). The truck like this, I ran a 13.05@105 with a sub 1.8 60ft. Next pass I left fuel alone but added 1 degree across the board. Results were a disappointing 13.0054:mad2: @ 104. I didnt like that the MPH had fallen so I added 1 degree in Low and Mid range and dropped timing back 1 degree on topend. Finally, a 12.994@almost 105 :friends: Now Im pleased because again the air is not as good as it was 2 weeks ago and Ive gained MPH. I havent had time to swap the thermo to a 176 but I think that might allow me to continue adding timing.

    General observations-

All this debate on CAI, I was with 2 other 08 GCSRT8 owners. 1 had the same mods as me and other was bone stock down to the paper filter. They were both running 13.5s@102 on Friday,

Interesting that your truck didn't like more than 2 degrees of added timing up top. I would've thought 3 maybe 4 degrees additional would have been your best bet. Did you try adding fuel up top with the increased timing after the 13.05@105?

Andy it liked the 2 degrees, it had slower MPH with the 3 degrees up top. No I didnt add more fuel because I saw no knock retard occurring. My results are just FYI and what my truck liked. It was freaking packed last night and I only got 3 runs. My list of mods is growing faster than its shrinking, perhaps I will get a wideband before the CMR so I can actually know A/F instead of going by knock retard. Had it not been so packed I would have tried another pass with the 3 degrees up top. I just recall from previous vehicles that always pulling timing back up top will keep the TQ from taking a nose dive.

Jim the increments on my 12.9992 run were:

    Reaction-.7860(.400 Pro Tree)
    60 Ft - 1.83
    330Ft - 5.3448
    1/8 ET - 8.2901
    1/8 MPH- 83.16
    1000ft - 10.8384
    1/4 ET -12.9992
    1/4 MPH- 104.73

Rememeber, I have a BWoody CAI, Predator with modified 91CAI tune.

I dont have any of my timeslips from the night I made my 12.96 run, I would assume they were pretty close to what I ran last night. I also have never run it bone stock, my 1st runs had a CAI.

    GO TEAM FORCE

Very nice time.I have only run 1/8 mile so far so heres mine
Pure stock no mods except i pulled the abs/tc fuse
We run on a .500 tree
Corrected altitude 1285 FT temp 66.5 and race weight was 5090
    RT........-.500 perfected lite
    60FT.......1.804
    330.........5.379
    1/8..........8.394
    MPH........81.47
It looks like i have gone about as fast as i can pure stock so i guess ill have to get that predator tune. You pull me 3 hundreths to the 330 and another 7 to the 1/8 thats just about what i fig as Andrew ( OUR ZOO ) runs you times in the 1/8 with same mods. It looks like i would run a 13.13- 13.20 in the 1/4 going from you time against mine .

Awesome times Jim, these bricks are impressive. Im curious, did you try running without the fuse pulled ? Also do you flash the convertor or stall up when leaving the line ? My truck will 60ft about .003-.007 better stalling up to about 2100, I also saw no difference in 60ft or ET with fuse pulled.

Wow .500 light, you musta been guessing when the yellow would drop.

Now remember im pure stock so it may make a difference on my jeep. I think your predator tune does the same thing as me pulling the abs fuse. With the t/c on my 60ft are 1.90 and with it turned off there 1.88 and with the fuse pulled there 1.80. MY mph with t/c on or off is 78.5 to 79.5 and with the fuse pulled its 81.47 to 81.82. I did make 1 run at 8.44 @ 82.67. I run better 60ft leaving the line at idle.

Very interesting Jim and it just goes to show how different vehicles can be. I always run with T/C off, and see nothing with fuse in or out.

    Thanks

I think you spin more with T/C off in autostick than drive.

I never had tried autostick because being pure stock if you dont shift just rite or just leave it in 1st it will shift by itself but will bounch the rev limitor. Steve said the preditor will shift the car at 6200 but it moves the rev limitor up to 6400 and stock the limitor is at 6200
