No, I'm not getting my entire car painted, but I've decided that I don't like/want the black windshield washer nozzles on my silver hood anymore. They stand out too much for such a small/inocuous item. Where do you San Diego/Socal folks recommend I go to, to get the nozzles only painted? What would be an expected cost? Could I do this myself with touch-up paint (which I have a can)?!?! *If I did it myself, my game plan would be: 1. Remove them from hood 2. LIGHT sand them (2000 grit) 3. Clean/dry 4. Spray on primer 5. Paint (only have a brush located on the touch up paint - no spray option)
you can probably match the color code to a small spray can of paint at your local autoparts store. I know mine has them and i believe your silver is the same as my truck no? if not you can just mach it up on the color code and get the matching bottle. if you use the brush it might look lumpy i guess is the only word that comes to mind...but (and i dont mean anything bad by saying this hahahaha) it depends on how anal you are about it
When? *btw: your offers of help and courtesy (plus you're just a good man) are why I've jumped head-long into the "Budoboy" struggle.
call me. i can do them this week. i get may car back from jba on wensday and it is off to vortech on thursday.
OK. I'm gonna give it a go at home... if I fuck it up, its paint on a tiny piece and we can re-paint it.
jason - go get some actual auto paint in a small can at your local auto store. i found some brilliant black in a can at my local autozone and it matched perfect!!! use a simple scotch brite pad to scuff them and then a very light coat of primer. a couple of thin coats of color, and then hit it with some good clear. let dry and install!!! pieces are so small, that i doubt you will notice even if the color was a bit off......... at least I could not tell!!! dahahahahaahahha i kill myself some times!!!! lol
Ohhh...ha...now I get it.....I forgot about Chris..... Now it makes sense.... *he who laughs last, thinks slowest*
at least you have taken the first step to recovery jeff....... admission is the toughest part.....lol
