"32 cited in street racing crackdown Operation Crack Down targets illegally modified cars FOX 5 San Diego Staff May 28, 2009 CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Nearly three dozen motorists were given citations in Chula Vista this week in connection with illegal street racing, police said today. On Wednesday, 32 citations were issued to drivers with illegal modifications to their vehicles during Operation Crack Down on Illegal Street Racing, Chula Vista police said. Additionally, a vehicle was impounded because it had been driven recklessly -- at 105 miles per hour on Olympic Parkway -- and two others were impounded over driver's license issues, according to police. Officers from San Diego, National City, Oceanside, Escondido, Ontario and the California Highway Patrol assisted Chula Vista police with the crackdown, along with San Diego County Sheriff's deputies. The operation was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety." I know of one guy who has been fucked by this already! They are looking for any reason to pull guys over.

Yeah, it started last weekend. Best to keep 'em quiet and under the radar (so to speak) for a while. A buddy of mine had the book thrown at him. Tickets for tinted tails, window tint, no front plate, and he has to face the smog referee for his blower. The cop told him to take his car home and he didn't want to see it on the street again until after he sees the smog ref. The scary part is that I have all the same mods...

There is a training class for the Cali PD's that encompasses modifications. Let's just say that from what I 'hear' that the focus was on foreign cars. :whistle: Someone I know went to that class and all I got was a lousy t-shirt! <--- true! All in all, our politicians (who WE elect) make the laws we suffer with. Shame on us!

True that Ralph. Not a CA vehicle, no worries. Examples: 10,000's of Mexican cars cross into the United States EVERYDAY in San Diego... not a one of them could pass our smog test within a mile... they don't get tickets (yet they pollute the fuck out of the air here). I'll assume some of you haven't seen a Mexican car run? Whatever it is, the gas down there smells like horseshit in the sun. HORRIBLE. Plus, half the damned cars spew gray smoke constantly... but here in Mexifornia, its all good, so long as AMERICANS don't pollute! Fucking liberal hippocrits.

ANY modification to any vehicle is illegal....engine, exterior, suspension...... BUT how can cops pull every single person over? Hell a CAI is illegal...i know...i got a state referee ticket
