Hey just curious to see if any of ya knew or are going for some good ol drag racing on the 5th. be nice to get a nice SRT prescence. AS of right now I have about 6 trucks going from the VTcoa
I would love to go but the next day is the John Force car show and there is no way i will have the motivation to detail my car for the show
Sorry brother. I would rather my wife cut off a nut with a butter knife than to attend a open track day at Fontana ever again. 12-14 hours to maybe make 5 runs at best doesn't work for me. :sorry:
lol i got 2 runs and that was me getting there at 6am and leaving 3pm' yeah the wait is rediculous esp after a honda or mustang puke guts on the track...But if i dont get a good time by the 3rd run im done anyhow. The one thing i like about waiting in between runs is we can park and just go watch some races, cook up some food and b.s a little..Well ill be out there the 5th hopefully i skip the 12's and go right in to the 11's
Well seriously the best time is to be there a 5am to be the first inline in the gate. what this means is you will pay first, tech first, and have your first run as soon as they open.. I got there at 6:30 last time and by the time i was done in tech i ran around 11 am or so
I'm with you Cam. The last time I went I was having trouble with my blower and ended up with 3 crappy runs with 2 hours in between each. It flat out sucked.
This just an idea, but, I believe (I know people have test & tune) you can get the track (Fontana) for $3500, so Cam + 9 @ $350. ahead all day or Cam + 19 @ $175. all day. Just my $.02 Cam, PLEASE Don't SHOOT Me !
That is not a bad idea... I am stuck in Cincinnatti, OH (actually Fairfield/Hamilton) for a couple of weeks anyway. ..
i love to race but paying over a 100 for an all day thing is a lil much...for me anyhow...3-5 runs is plenty for me...
to the top folks. will be there at 5am so i can start racing early...' look for the red truck with black wheels
I'm 100% up for a rental day. It's worth the extra coin to me. But until I get her running again, I'm not gonna sweat it. Have fun this weekend and good luck!!.
I think paying the $35. - $40. for all day/waiting to get 2 runs (maybe 3) is not worth the waiting game. You & 400 people. You get 10 - 20 people together you can get you can get 20 - 30 runs in. What it comes down to is, To each his own or The end justifiy's the means. When I run I like to run. When I go to watch I watch. That why I like going to Open Track Events (Road Course) with The LA Shelby Club (2-days Streets of Williow Springs = $200, get you 5 hrs of track time or with All Time Racing 1-day Big Williow = $300, you get 4 hrs of track time) with uncrowed track time. I think there is a limit to how many car you can have for the track rental, I do not think they will let you do 35 cars (@ $100.)
Ur right...to each his own or the end justifies the means That's your perspective....but mine as well are others are completely opposite The way i see it...i haven't driven my Jeep in 3 months and it's undergoing an incredible build that will be done middle of next week If i made this Fontana day for $35 i could have potentially broken into the 10's...putting me in less than 5 Jeep Srt8's to have achieved that milestone So you may enjoy racing all day at a track for your own pleasure but I have a personal goal to achieve and merely going in circles for a road course time is much less significant than getting a top 1/4th mile time that ranks nationally Road course days are fun but 1-2 runs on a drag strip at the end of the season to test out a long awaited build is more than worth it for somebody like myself...and i'd pay MORE if i had to I'm sure you can appreciate where i'm coming from as i do where you are as well
