OLD Items used Dawn soapy water to wash the calipers brake cleaner to clean steel wool 3M Sandblaster Gold Series 320 grit (fine) sand paper mar-hyde total prep automotive cleaner for adhesion promotions Duplicolor Silver Anodized Metalcast Ground Coat 3 layers Duplicolor Red Anodized Metalcast Paint I did both sides at the same time which cuts down on time since you have to wait 10 minutes between coats so you need a floor jack and 2 jack stands. Using a 19mm socket loosen the lug nuts on both sides, raise the jeep up and support both sides with jack stands, remove wheels, wash both calipers with dawn soapy water, dry with towel or air compressor, spray down with brake cleaner, using steel wool scuff up the entire caliper front and back, spray down with brake cleaner, take a small trash bag and cover rotor and pull it behind the caliper between it and the rotor-do this on both sides-tape up to hold in place, tape over the area where the brake pads slide out, spray down adhesion promotor/caliper cleaner-let dry, spray down base/ground coat (mine was metallic anodized silver) first coat spray light-let dry for 10 minutes while that is drying do the other side, repeat with second coat-wait 10 minutes, 3rd coat a little heavy-wait 15 minutes. Now your ready for the top coat (mine was anodized red metallic) basically same process as the ground/base coat. On the final top coat wait a good 30 minute before applying the Brembo stickers if its cold outside maybe even an hour (trust me)Finally using clear engine enamal or VHT caliper clear coat you can put on as man layer of clear coat as you want just be careful and down spray it too close or it will bubble up and leave a grayish coating and not clear. Just take your time and maybe do front 2 one day and the rear the next or start early, make sure your in a closed but ventilated garage and after spraying be sure to wipe down the jeep with detail spray or distilled water as overspray will get on it but not really stick just wipe it off its very minimal also dont spray too close with the clear enamal I had to redo one that I got too close with the clear enamal is overkill but it will also seal on the brembo stickers for sure and added heat protection. The metallic paint is good for 500 degrees and the engine enamal clear coat is as well, if you track your jeep you will want VHT caliper clear coat good for 900 degrees I found all I needed at Advanced Autoparts
