I think you will be made hole in the end. This was a defect in manufacturing! It would be clear if you were doing something like jumping the car! There would be very clear signs in other locations of the car hitting hard other then the rear end! To be clear the front end of our cars are so heavy that if you were jumping or had an accident where the car went air born and landed perfectly on all fours which would again not happen with the weight of our front ends. Unless you are a stunt man and planned the event! Then as I said there would be clear signs showing other areas of impact. Now the mods that you have would in no way caused the damage to the rear of your car and lastly if you did have an accident where just the rear of the car was impacted. Then again it would be very clear signs of impact on the car. I really hope this all works out for you as from looking at the pictures and hearing your story I believe you. And it would make me use a different car company to make future purchases.
great news all. Chrysler is taking of the entire issue. Thanks for all of the support and kind words. Sincerely, cbutler32
Excellent! are they going to do an analysis to determine the root cause of the failure? or give you any inside scoop on that?
Thanks man! Thanks man! Hopefully they are, but I am asking them to do this. I am going to try and be there when they take it apart and drop the rear end. I'll pass along pics if I'm there. As I am sure the damage is far worse than what can be seen. Thanks Quick.
alright folks, here is the update. Car was finished on Thursday. Picked it up and only really had a chance to check her out in a straight line a couple of times. Friday was full of work as well. Saturday - took the kids to a birding event out in Ramona with their grandparents. I was able to shake the Vixen down and really see if there were any "issues". She performed admirably as she always has. She was stout in the corners and she handled the curves as well as the curves that she possesses. Thanks for all of the support folks through the last month. Chrysler stepped up, honored the warranty, and came up with a differential when none existed. Cannot say enough good things about the company and the people along the way. Yes, they made it difficult, but in the end, they made it right. Thanks again. Sincerely, Chris cbutler32 P.S. - check out the pics of the new subframe in the lxforum site. Major change from the 2006 version I had.
Are you saying that there was a redesigned/upgraded subframe installed? Do you know what its production details are? year etc.?
Lately, I have been looking under the LX and LY platforms and the only ones that I found that had the new boxed in cradles were the Challengers, even the V6 models. I had my cradle out for some Pedders bushings, so I went ahead and boxed mine in along with some other strengthening.
