Hmmm....in a few cases, you don't have to choose. You can get both!

Blondie was probably the first to bring rapping to the charts via an actual band playing instruments:

The first 'duet' to bring it to the mainstream and achieve success would be Aerosmith and RunDMC:

The Beastie Boys combined it a couple of times as well:

(Yep- you're hearing Kerry King from Slayer on guitar)

Both NYC 'artists', Anthrax and Public Enemy are very good friends.

They've done covers of each others songs in the past (live and recorded).

As for your stereo problem at work, I have two words for you:
    REMOTE CONTROL

Hmm, this is why I got my own 60 GB ipod and tuned out my co-workers at my last job.

And your friend is a moron having a mid-life crisis.

The way I see it "RAP" is just a "C" away from "CRAP!!!" Just my 0.2..

I listen to both but like rock, hard rock and metal waaaayyyyy more. This guy is a bully. Bullies need to be dealt with appropriately. He is also in his 40's. I say you call him out on his threat after work sometime. You should all go out for a drink or some food after work. People who do these things will continue to do them, but when the shiite hits the proverbial fan. they often cower at the potential ramifications. That is, nobody wants to be sent to the dentist when they don't have to. This guy will be winded in less than 1 minute. Even if you dance around him and throw out some jabs with no intention of hitting him for 60 seconds..trust me, he'll be soo winded, he won't want to fight a 12 year old Catholic school-girl who was extorting his grandma and seducing his daughter. I'm not condoning violence, but I do suggest you call him out and make him look like the ass that he is.

I'd throw that radio against the nearest wall. "Now we aren't listening to anything". That bitch needs to go back to Pre-K and learn how to share.

Hahahahaha, I get off of work and everyone had great responses. Enjoyed reading them!

Again today... radio to rap station at 10am.

I think he's having a mid life crisis like Tam said.

I would destroy the radio but it actually belongs to another co-worker in a different department. I'll try talking to him to see if he takes it home or just tries to make everyone agree on something.
