I swear I get pulled over for the most BS reasons..some of you remember I was pulled over a few months ago for running a Yellow...not Red light....Lisa was in the passenger seat to verify that one. Today, I am driving home minding my own business, driving below the speed limit...thanks to the wonderful rush hour traffic in S Fla!. I had seen a Cop car in my rear view two lanes over for a several blocks probably 6-10 cars back from me. We get to the red liht and I guess he went to get in the turn lane, I wasnt paying attention to him until he stopped at my left rear qtr panel. When my light turns green he cuts off the car behind me to pull right behind me and as we go through the intersection puts his lights on. WTF. I didnt change lanes, didn't run a light, wasnt speeding, didnt cut anyone off, didnt murer anyone I knew of, didnt have an expired tag...so why is this guy pulling me over! So I get through the intersection and pull over. He slowly walks up to the car and asks if I have any weapons or drugs in the car lol..I say no. Asks for my License and Registration and while doing so tells me that I have a very nice car. I told him thank you sir, I like it too! I figure..cool, this guy is nice, this is going to be one of those stories I keep reading about where the cop pulls you over to check out your car...right! .....WRONG! I give him my lic, ins and registration and he proceed to whip out some sort of gauge, and tells me he pulled me over to see if my tint was legal! He places it on my front window and the meter reads 16% and he tells me the limit in Fl is 28%, checks the back and it is also 16% which is legal in FL. He proceeds back to his car, and I figure surely he will give me a warning, I was very polite to him, and he liked my car, so surely no ticket! WRONG AGAIN, back he comes w a ticket in hand..76 Bucks for illegal tint. He gives me the ticket then continues to ask about my car, and how I like it and what I have done to it. Then he asks about my bike since he saw the Motorcyle endorsement. I couldnt beleive this guy just gave me a ticket and is sitting on the side of the road BS-ing about how much HP my car has etc! Anyway, so I get yet another BS ticket to add to my collection! I need Legmakers luck!
Bullshit. And the cops on board can raz me all they want. I understand where they're coming from (safety reasons etc) but it's BS since people can drive vans with no windows at all on the back or sides. I'm pissed off for you Kris! ARGH. At any given major intersection, they can hand out a ticket since idiot driver's who endanger others are a dime a dozen. They ticket an otherwise law-abiding citizen for BS....jealousy is all that I can think of on this one. At least, that's what makes me feel better lol.
here in Utah, it you get caught with illegal tint. The officer makes you take the tint off right on the spot. Now back on topic, you must be a gang member

If you change the legal percentage to 50% and make the ticket $110, you described EXACTLY my trip to the accountant yesterday. I found out my windows are 16% too. :grin: The only difference is that the cop actually WAS cool with me. I mean, he was obviously an insanely bored state trooper on a rainy day. The truck attracts more attention than a hot oil wrestling match of a group of Penthouse pets, even on overcast, down-pouring days. I can't imagine if I'd bought a red one! I explained to him that I purchased the truck with the tint on it, and had no clue that it was illegal. He was cool about it and understood. "You can probably take it off yourself, but with a truck this nice you may want to have a professional do it." Heh heh....yeah. The tint was a little dark for my tastes anyway, so off it will come and new *legal* tint will go on. I was lucky enough to deal with a cool cop. Who knows, these days....I could have been tased and ended up on YouTube last night. Something funny: In Ohio, you are not allowed to start a personalized plate with a number. So, my plate: "O26OIN5" uses the letters "O" in place of a zero (smart thinkin, Kev!). When the Trooper tried to run my plate, it came up as "INVALID" because he was trying to use a zero. He told me to go to DMV (called BMV here) and have them fix it. I said no problem. I was headed to AutoZone for some stuff, and BMV was next door. The BMV in Gahanna, OH is one of the smoothest, most-efficient BMV's I've ever been in. I have never spent more than 8 minutes in there, even for the most complicated stuff. The director also happens to live a few houses down from me. :grin: I explained to him what the trooper said. He explained that on the embossed personalized plates, the O and the zero are shaped differently; but on the 'flat printed' personalized plates, they are the same shape and size, and showed me examples. He printed out the BMV record of my plate and told me to show that to any officers that raised the question again. No charge. 6 minutes. :grin: So did Tony Montana. :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
I got pulled over in the Charger for window tint two weeks ago (3rd time for this) and the wifey got pulled over yesterday for tint once again lol. Since she had the ticket in the car, they wrote her a ticket for no license plate and then proceeded to compliment the car and ask her what the license plate meant. The tint still aint coming off and a license plate still isn't going on. Fk that sheiiite lol.
Well at least you all made me feel better you feel my pain lol! Also I just read that Chris already got a ticket for Tint..so that also made me feel better lmao!
I was on my way to my father in laws laws when I got the ticket. Sooo when I did get there, he signed it off and posted dated it for me. Just gotta pay $10 bucks and stick it in the mail. I've met quite a few LEOS out this way with tint and no plate. What a joke!
Yeah that is all good... but when you start doing the windows between the A & B pillars .. it does get become a hazard.. especially at night when you cant see what is coming at you from the sides.. Yeah COPS can't see in when they walk up .. anyway take it for what it is worth.. and yes I got my share of tickets as well during and after being on the job.. shit happens.. think of all the time you got away with some crap and didn't get caught.. a CHP told me you could have tint if you have a Doctor write a paper saying you have a skin condision, then you could have the darkest tint you want! once you get that paper you got to take it to the DMV, and your set! he did tell me not to tell anyone so shhhhhhhhhh lol
A nice example of a cop fulfilling a service to make the place we live in a better, safer one, right?? BS!!! I want someone to explain how all that crap this guy talked made our lives better and safer?? I think he was just testing you to see if you got mad at him so he could continue his power trip over you!
I've got 20% tint all around, nothing on the windshield lol (I'm know some people do that but I draw the line there)....I never have issues seeing at this opacity. I think police should approach every vehicle with caution. Now, Limo tint (5%) is way too much for me and I'd get pulled over right away. I think the sunroof helps since light is coming through the top and illuminating the interior some so that the 20% tint isn't as bad.
I would of tazed you to make sure you were harmless :flipout: Yeah I would be in trouble also if they pulled me over for tint in either one of my vehicles!
